My logsplitter is a factory made horizontal tractor mounted one called "easi cut" ive had it years and when my old tractor went the journey ive been running it off a hydraulic power pack from seawinch i bought with a hauler for my boat, it coped well enough only a 5.5 honda engine and the hydraulic oil tank only held 1 1/2 gallons
  2. I,m in durham too, the hydraulic power pack was stolen off my logsplitter two days before christmas! The cheeky gits used my own tools to undo the hydraulic pipes!! I moved the splitter incase they came back for it!

  6. I,m not vertically challenged but i swear by buckinghams theres a fair bit of adjustment in them and theyre a good dependable set of spikes

Was thinking of maybe having a look at that hilux or something similar, would be ideal for light arb work and comfortable enough for trekking round the country subbying, could cut costs by getting rid of my navara and 130 tipper by having a "one suits all" vehicle but i,m going nowhere near that one now! Wondered why it had been for sale for so long!

  10. Ive got an entec chippit 98 model and when you take the chute off the number is in the insert wherethe chute sits

  12. I,m thinking of giving this a go, i desperateley need a kick up the arse in a morning at the minute and its got to be better than my usual two coffees a flapjack 2 glucosamine tablets and a cod liver oil capsule!!! Failing that i,m gonna buy meself a tin of easy start!!

  14. I agree, but remember to us its just a bit of wood and 30 secs with a saw, nowt! But such things are out of the average joe publics reach, i own and run a commercial fishing boat aswell as forestry and arb and am amazed at what people pay retail for crab lobster and fish! Two a penny to me but joe public is happy to pay it!
  15. Yip thats what i do just crumble one down the centre, make sure its right at the bottom before you light it
  16. I make and sell a few i find birch sells the best but i think larch burns the best
  17. Log about sixteen inches high cut down to about 4 inches from the base 3 or 4 cuts like your dividing up a pizza or a pie
  18. Sometimes an insurance company can only be rated as any good if youve had a claim and how they acted, ive had a few and nfu have always been excellent
  19. Ive been with nfu for years i find there service great, price wise you tell me :- 61 plate navara and 53 plate 130 tipper £1,200 ??
  20. Find enough work to scratch the surface of the bills? Or say "to hell with it" sell all my kit and get a job in a call centre!
  21. Nice to see an old lwb seies landy earing its keep i love them! Simplicity in itself! If it breaks you can fix it with spanners none of this laptop and electrical sensor rubbish that baffles old school cutters!
