  1. There are two trees, both doubles. One is an Ash and the other is a Sycamore. The sycamore has one side snapped out and hung up at the half way point across adjacent trees. Hence reason for call to me. His first question was "Was the break due to weakening" His second concern is the integrity of what's left and if he is liable should his tree fail and damage third party
  2. What is the conventional thinking on the integrity of fire damaged trees. Large trees...bark gone on one side...plenty of leaf but much deadwood too. Client questioning whether next door neighbour (who caused damage) is liable for removal costs Thanks
  3. Yeah ...stick a bit of selective in with the glyphosate to get a faster take on some of the more difficult broadweeds. You can see them curling their toes up in half an hour this time of year
  4. Try Orange plant. they deal greenmech and I know they do finance
  5. Yes just read the web page on Harrison Rockets Final question..what do you think is the best range of lengths...or just leave it at 50 mts
  6. Nose straps..?? to attach main line to? rather than untying bag...?
  7. Cheers...will have a look at all those
  8. Hi Just started using SRT for access mainly. Had a cheap throw line in bag for ages but mostly used it for putting pull lines into trees. Now have big shot and cube, but am wondering how much difference an expensive (throw) line will make. Also would it be prudent to keep a spare one in case one gets stuck etc and finally is it worth getting a range of different weight bags. what are the whys and wherefores of using the different types. Used a foot and knee ascender this weekend. Couldn't believe it. Easier than walking up a ladder:001_smile: Thanks
  9. I've got a treeflex and have thought about getting the top parts which in effect turn it into a full body harness suitable for MEWP, but they want nearly £100. I use a simple strimmer shoulder belt to short clip the saw to with the end of the lanyard connected to harness as failsafe or if I want to let it hang. Otherwise its pulling my harness down especially when climbing through stuff. Probably don't help now my waist to hip ratio is not what it was.
  10. How can it have been a thirty year battle...hedge is only 32 years old
  11. What a load of hyped up cobs...why's he wearing a cowboy hat whilst working
  12. Orange plant in Cannock. Not too far
  13. Try putting some spray marker dye in the spray tank and use a low drift nozzle. Doesn't sound like you have any herbaceous stuff in there. Do not use Tordon as it wont kill grass but will damage the shrubs.
  14. Thanks...and I would have been brickin it in the MEWP until I got tied in
  15. How long did it take in total...? Did you do it all without spikes..? Thanks
  16. Anyone know roughly what I would pay for a new one of these
  17. Just ask them to shift it first. Maybe they don't think they've done anything wrong. Some people think dumping green waste is ok as they consider it bio degradable. Talk to them and explain you don't want it on your land. If they tell you to get stuffed then move on to the counter measures
  18. Thanks all....think I'll climb and chog down. Stuff the lawn we can sort a few dents after
  19. Question to the tree inspector types... See pics below of Lombardy poplar..middle of base is rotted out but two thirds of the circumference of outer wood seems sound...and if it didn't come down in the winds yesterday...Im in Birmingham....interested in what people think
  20. Of the few jobs I've done I found re pollards to be the hardest. Mind you they were TPOs so no spikes. I found few anchor points below the re sprout and none hardly above
  21. Can you not describe what happened without naming people. Might help people to avoid the same in future
  22. looks like a lilac
  23. I think so mate.. I had a good look around...the £130 includes VAT
  24. I got a Toffee Crisp with mine. Cant wait to go play with it...(Big shot not toffee crisp)
