  1. On a serious note, are you asking because they baulked at the price of the job ?. As you said you didn't own the timber and they might use it themselves. Unless you've got space to store it for a mythical buyer, it's not worth the effort.
  2. We'd be moaning about a cave shortage tho, back in my day... I do have to wonder how a climate activist justifies being in the arb industry tho. I have to be pragmatic generally speaking or I'd be off to Switzerland, or get accused of keyboard warrior.
  3. About 40 if my vague recollections of museums, I'm sure it was pretty static until smallpox vaccination for the general population.
  4. Simply, yes. Have a read of any newspaper and it's overflowing with celebrities and there menagerie of little oiks that go on to be influencers. Today was no mark actor Gary Lucy, 5th kid.
  5. So let's me get this right, I'm the problem. Yet I'm the one of the many farmers in the UK actually benefitting and improving the environment around me, effectively living Carbon negatively. Great reductive reasoning Gretta. I'll duck out periodically, as I've an acre or two of holly to thrash back so those birds of prey won't stave.
  6. I have no lack of flying bugs, which all get hoovered up by the swarms of migratory birds including housemartin, swallows, swift etc. The only pesticides/herbicides around here are used in gardens and by the council. Personally I would talk to your parents and not use post DDT years as an example of how the world looks. DDT caused atleast a 10-15 year collapse of bird populations, now 50ish years later it's almost finished correcting total numbers. If in your youth lots of midges not being eaten=an imbalance somewhere, does it not ?.
  7. Nope "an imagined place or state of things in which everything is perfect"
  8. To dispel the utopia where we eat zee bugs, Klas and friends could just buy Zimbabwe or Easter Island and turn that into the utopian ground zero fatherland. When it works I'll be more inclined to hop aboard.
  9. You've lost absolutely nothing for putting a classified advert on eBay for 16k+ for a couple of weeks. Prices as they say can always come down, but you'd be daft to not atleast give it a punt and see what people offer.
  10. Overun with the fkrs, same with badgers. Not many rabbits but mixy tends to have a cyclical ten years before the numbers rise. Everything else is not in short supply either, low input farming is not Peds utopian BS vegan world. If you want a world eating 95% less meat and 50% less dairy, I hate to say it but that's would make it worse than the hunger games. Livestock are the only animals able to turn grass into usable food, grass grows, dies and rots if you don't use it. So make use of it without fertilizer and not squander it on the alter of BS environmental guff. I would argue eat more local stuff, especially meat.
  11. Yeap, everyone is supposedly somewhere on the spectrum, that's what I was taught during my stint in teacher training. Grammar, syntax and to a certain degree spelling does fall down on the internet, hastened by an amalgam of USA and British English. But you can see through most of it. Someone else's cack idea is still a cack idea regardless of how illogical there scrawl is. Genius I may not be but still smarter than your average bear.
  12. A slightly daft question, the bug definitely caused problems throughout agricultural at harvest with summer diesel. Does the same happen with winter diesel, it has paraffin or similar added to prevent gelling. Veg fat must float on diesel as it must be aerobic for the bacteria to survive, maybe veg fat sinks under paraffin and it can't survive?.
  13. Looking at the MSDS it's just 30-60% pure alcohol of some variety. Presumably it takes the alcohol level above that which yeast/bacteria can survive. But there must be an effective shelf life, before it evaporates or absorbs water exactly like ethanol does if it's sat for any length of time. I would be tempted to test isopropyl alcohol in a test tube and see if sludge forms. Sulphur was for protecting mechanical pumps, similar to why it was in older oil and turned parts slightly yellow.
  14. Sadly eggs I know more than I ever need to about Seeland and similar WW2 artillery defenses. As they are dotted all around our coastline, at huge expense even whilst radar was under development. The radio thing was more when they played around with the nautical mile distance from land, they even made a terrible film about radio Caroline.
  15. Well I'm sure you can strike up a deal for a full time spot on Sealand Island instead. Still think you'd annoy the neighbors, but atleast the RN have experience dealings with salty seamen and freeloading pirates.
  16. Better being a law abiding bellend such as myself, than a drunk self absorbed arse such as yourself. Rules are there for a reason, dress it up in whatever free spirited morals and cheeky chappy salt of the earth hippy BS you like. 99.9% of the population have zero trouble following the rules, if you're so open minded let him move his hippy commune onto yours.
  17. Is that a Gaelic love spoon?, Ummmm put that on yer porridge.
  18. Well children, why don't we let the cough cough star pupil explain himself to the class. And you Don't pay it for your caravan do you.
  19. Plain and simply you know you're in the wrong and that's why you're being moved along and will no doubt be required to moved again at some point. I have zero to prove and asking someone to step outside just proves you know it's wrong. I think we both know you're probably more going straight to the kicking than kissing, maybe work on your chat up line if so.
  20. Does the local magistrates court and police station have a chair reserved just for you, maybe "Reserved Eggs - Accused" name card?.
  21. If you want to sell AA, state you're aims simply & coherently Don't just layer it with pages of waffle about joining and volunteering and how you won't get council work without. If you goal is to effectively run an industry, which is in effect having it as a council requirement attains for a certain section of the industry. Avoiding Pierrepoint is actually a reference to not just following orders and not questioning anything. I've not said if it's good or bad, personally they're about 40 years late for starting a trade union, unless you can convince insurance companies that it's mandatory to get insurance.
  22. Nah, I've met enough knuckle dragging types to last a lifetime. (That veil of I wasn't talking about you, slipped ever so quickly) We've discussed this already, owning more than one vehicle doesn't entitle you to pay just one road tax as you can only drive one at a time.
  23. Well the council did name me on the council tax as did the planning permission. So two out of two is my score.
  24. Back to thinly veiled BS are we, hate to break it to you but Cheshire and all the combine authorities are even worse than Staffordshire just as a nice FYI. Hopefully you'll buy your boat and then we can hear you moaning about the CRT moving you along every 7-14 days. Atleast I'm living rent free in your thoughts.
  25. Ring n ride a tree surgeon, next they'll be telling me the overloaded chip in the back is for lower kerb height.
