Must agree. The finish of the boards using the Logosol mill is super smooth. I'm using a Husky 365 with one of Robs low pro set ups.

Been back out milling up some Sweet Chestnut today. Made a log bed to stack some of the bigger stems i had to mill with the Alaskan first.

That's got some sexy legs but that top WOW. Great job that.

Thinking of selling my very very clean TW13/75 as just not getting the work to warrant keeping it. Brought new from my local dealer in 2010 all paper work tools to change blades that i think i have four of that have only been sharpened twice. I put the original wheels on the front and replaced them with the ones pictured to make moving easy. As a lot of you know these chippers are very well made but the biggest downfall well i think it is is the daft design of the feed hopper it's far to high and the throat is to small. It will chip straight limbs but unless you are happy to spend so much time cutting and trimming limbs into pea sticks that's fine. So here is the good bit after coming up with some plans and a design i had a local company make me a new feed hopper. They reduced the height and opened up the opening but still thinking of the safety side they didn't go to low just over a meter at lowest point and fitted the handles to stop reaching in. Had it powder coated to make last longer. By having these slight adjustments made it transformed the machine. Less height to lift up to machine less trimming time = less fatigue. Don't get me wrong it will still not beat the larger machines with feed rollers and yes as with all machines you still need to spend that extra cutting time but for a micro machine that i think is now one of the best gravity feed machines around it does a dam good job. I just wished that TimberWolf listened more to the customers who are using the machines. I think that they are missing out on the popular demand for the micro chipper. Right to cap things off. Here we have my clean 2010 one owner from new lightly used TW13/75 four blades three that need a sharpen, tools to change blades, manual, upgraded and the original feed hopper, upgraded wheels. Always cleaned after use and kept in the dry. This will be going up on the sales page soon. Can be sold with just the original hopper as i have someone who want's to buy the upgraded hopper for £400 cost me £750 but would like to keep together. Right that's me done for now sorry for going on a bit.

Hi jamesd. This was my first go with it. I think it will speed up things once i get used to it and it's limits. I mainly got this to process smaller logs but it can take a ton they say up to 60 cm diameter with the poss of cutting much larger logs and up to 3.8 m long and longer with extra extensions. But at the moment I've no way of loading something that big so will use the Alaskan to make the bigger lumps manageable. You can add the electric and chainsaw log moulder electric speed saw and electric bandsaw if you got a lot of money. Some good clips on youtube.

Hi NFG. The low pro is a bit faster but it is still slow. The 365 will be used for the Farmers mill from now on so I'll get a shorter bar for that and use the 880 on the big stuff. Got all this Sweet Chestnut ready today for milling will post pics as milling.

Husky 365 with the 30'' Low pro set up. Did have a bit of flex so as you can see in this picture robbed the bar clamp from the Alaskan which stopped that but had it clamped at different depths so had a bow in the bar and it also put to much weight on bar nose so will get something lighter made up. Learn something every day. Got a load of Sweet Chestnut to carry on with next. Had my Daughter helping out for the morning she had great fun.

Hi James. Got it down to 0% mc. Still working out how long to leave in the kiln think might be to long. I've only put soft wood in so far and do 4 days steaming around 70 deg then three weeks drying around 50 deg. Just taken out some 2'' t 900x1500 Blue Atlas Cedar slabs after two weeks down to 8/10 %mc. The tree had been on the ground a year but forgot to check how much mc it had before it went in to the kiln still learning. Started a log book know so might help for future reference.

Hi James.Yeah the Logosol Sauno kiln. Made my own 8x4ft box. Seems to work ok. On the fourth load got a couple of leaks around the door so just fitted a rubber seal to help with that problem.

Think I'll keep the 880 for the Alaskan mills and use the Husky 365 with the low pro setup on the farmers mill to mill up the smaller diameter logs if i buy one.
-
Thanks for that. I'm hoping to go to the Logosol open day this Saturday to take a look at the farmers mill and M8 but was hoping to use my 880. I'll have to phone them before i go.
-
Would kiln dried in the Sauno kiln be any good. Just waiting to hear back on some sycamore.

I've got some of the Husky LI range and love them. Two chainsaws one strimmer and just got the new longreach hedge trimmer. Run two 150 and a 200 battery that seems to get me through my jobs. Also got the 12v car charger but can always get power from one of my customers if needed.

After a bit of feedback on this kiln as thinking of getting one as they have a bit of a sale on. Cheers Kev

I leave a two inch gap. I used the standard bar till i recently got the low pro bar setup from Rob. Nice sharp chain filed to 10 degrees and let the saw do the work. Have fun.

I've been using mine for the last year. Brought with the bits had a good bit of use with no probs.

They look good value for the money. Think your going to be busy posting a few of these Rob.
