  1. I have a full fitting kit to do zackly that. No adapter plate needed , it will bolt straight to the r380 or lt77. fits any gm v8 ( multi drilled) Tiz going cheap Bob
  2. Bottom line is that firewood is a commodity which like oil,gas and whatever else heats a house will fluctuate in both demand or price. Not much consolation for those that have large amounts stacked when the price or demand drops off but like all these things it will only be a blip in the market trends. Bob
  3. Its worth checking out Ebay under tipper bodies because chip boxes do turn up. The one on the transit which came complete with subframe and telescopic ram , I got for about £300 so even after collecting it if tou value your time it was under £500.That has a separate tool compartment. Bob
  4. No mention of logs Now Whitehall's crazy eco zealots want to ban your gas cooker, writes CHRISTOPHER BOOKER | Daily Mail Online Bob
  5. The JCB has an out front mower that sticks out a lot further than your proposed digger. The lower deck of the trailer is 30 feet. Bob
  6. Eddie its no different to all the contraptions that you see strapped to mogs and other forestry kit. If its what works for you go for it but dont forget without pictures it never happened Bob
  7. If the transfer box is the same sort of thing as the earlier 90/110 landies I might have one in the stores that will fit. You will still need a tank etc. Bob
  8. I tried belt driven hydraulics on a cherry picker and it seemed to need the belts replaced and tightened all the time, I have gone the hydraulic PTO route off the back of the transfer box now, trouble free Bob
  9. More than 2 metres, but not exceeding 3.05 metres. • Marker boards required (C&U Schedule 12, para 3) • Attendant required (C&U Schedule 12, para 2) • Marker boards required (C&U Schedule 12, para 3) These are the load in front rules Eddie which you basically escort yourself with all the correct markers, anything bigger and its a police escort and notice. Really after 2mts out front plus the length of the bonnet its going to be dangerous at T junctions etc because of the sight lines. Bob
  10. Tractors/mogs are not exempt from construction and uses so it would be a wise move to sticker up and properly light any implements that hang off a tractor especially if its for non ag use. Have a squint. http://www.fwi.co.uk/gr/INFO-TRACTORS.pdf http://assets.highways.gov.uk/specialist-information/abnormal-loads-industry-guidelines/A_brief_guide_to_overhanging_loads.pdf Bob
  11. The best gadget I have seen for cold starting a diesel is the diesel fired Webasto hot start. Its cut into the heater hose and draws diesel from the tank to warm up the engine via the cooling system. You get a warm engine and heater demist in about five minutes, they have their own timer so it can be preset for when you get to the yard. Its a must have for anyone north of Watford Bob http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=172820&stc=1&d=1419593238
  12. Just to get you going normally means it will stay like it forever:blushing: I shoved some ply up on the hilux tipper with intentions of doing it properly a few weeks later five years ago, makes me feel ill looking at it Bob
  13. I have just ordered these 8 x 48W LED WORK LIGHT SPOT BEAM OFF ROADS LAMP LIGHT BOAT TRUCK 12V 24V 4WD 4x4 | eBay I thought they would make a decent reverse and side lighting for the artic trailers. I will let you know what they are like. Bob
  14. Its far to costly to get involved boundary disputes. The thickness of a line is a meter wide on the OS maps and is more grief than its worth to get clarified. If you have maintained this strip of land why not just go for an adverse possession order, you wont need any legal help and it will cost your neighbour to defend it. All you need is proof on your part. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/adverse-possession-of-registered-land Bob
  15. 130 galv chassis, single cab, roller shutter tool box behind cab, ali three way tipper chip box to fill the rest of space, full length roof rack front to back with split where tipper is, side lockers on rest of chassis space, reversing camera, loads of work lights front back and side , salisbury front and rear axles with air lockers or truetrac diffs, wide angle uj`s on prop , 6.2/5 diesel gm v8 with yank auto box and dana transfer box, hydraulic winch front and back, suspension lift with caster correction arms and 33/12.5/15 all terrain tyres. And a coat of blue paint please santa. Bob
  16. It may pay to have two vehicles, a small lightweight beavertail for the plant and machinery with a trailer for the add on kit that puts it overweight and a 4x4 for when you need to slosh about off road. 3.5 ton behind any 4x4 is no fun no matter which one it is. Its the tail wagging the dog. Bob
  17. I have two MK`s one still in use and the other festering in the corner of the yard. The bowser is a civvy twin wheeler and has been in regular use plant and tree watering. On the ex army one I have fitted a Fassi crane to it and a TL500 turbo engine with a coach 5speed overdrive gearbox with power steering ( luxury). This is work in progress and the cab needs to go back on. I will dig out some picks of it. The old girl out this year saving this new turf on a playing field.
  18. I would change the oil and filter then get the pressure checked with a gauge. The original may be telling lies, they are supposed to run 25-30 psi @ around 1000rpm so its not that high anyway. 19. Well Gary`s Alaskan has really been earning its keep, over 50 2" thick slabs of Oak and he has started to plank some Sequoia . And we have rashered up all the rest on the Mizer, which has been severely raided by the lads on the lanscape side. What you see here is about a quarter of what we have cut , the rest has been used. Bob
  20. Its not a problem to get an ag taxation class on these trucks, our 4x4 tk bowser was straight forward to do. I am going to get this body fitted with jack legs so I can swap between different bodies. Seems a waste just having the bowser on it all the time. Bob
  21. Some great mog pics , the main reason we stopped running the mogs was because of the way they were being driven by the guys. As soon as they climb in the cab horns grow out of their heads and they seem to think they can roar about in something this heavy in the same manner as a sports car. Way to many "accidents" and nudged gate posts for our insurers, owner drivers no problem but as a fleet vehicle you do need to be very careful who you let behind the wheel. Bob Saying that we have some scrub clearance on the common which needs the chip taken off site so I will have to reluctantly dig it out of the back of the yard and let the loony`s in it.
  22. That disc has to be worth a try. There are now 38 boards cut that range between 3` to 4`wide and most are 12` long which is one hell of a lot of finishing so I am off to the hire shop next week to hire one of those floor sanders. If I lay the boards out on the concrete I may be able to run that about on them just to get then in the picture prior to hitting them with the discs. 23. Your toys are getting bigger Rhys Bob
  24. We need a tip site for chip and chogs in Radlett Herts for about two weeks. Any help on this would be appreciated. Bob
  25. Thanks for the heads up, wedges it is. There or ten more oversized sticks to cut up so anything that makes it easier is a great help. This lot is destined for garden table tops and one of the questions I was going to ask was where can a planer thicknesser be found that can put a finish on these boards? Some are 4 feet wide. Bob
