  1. Yes indeed, i started climbing on 10mm Stein friction cord tied in a loop paired with 13mm Yale xtc then changed to 8mm Marlow Viper. I've since moved on to the HC system, still using 8mm Viper with 13mm Yale xtc. Will be purchasing some Yale 12mm Imori and try it out with the HC.
  2. When i transitioned from climbing on a prussik to the hc set up i was using the vt.13mm Yale xtc with 8mm op, too much sit back and finicky to get just right. Tried the Distel but it tended to bind up on descents. I went over to the Michoacan abely demonstrated by "The Educated Climber" and haven't looked back. Simple to tds with very little if any sit back and very reliable. Using an 8mm Marlow viper e2e. I'm going to splash out on a Zigzag and 45m of 12mm Yale Imori. Just because!!!
  3. The 241 is the finest small saw in it's class ever made imo. I rum mine with a 16" bar mostly but i have a 15" for it as well. I changed the drive sprocket from a spur seven pin to a rim eight pin and it's made it even better. I modded the muffler myself and am planning to get it lightly ported next Year. I'd buy another one in a hearbeat. It's the 562xpw for me next though.
  4. From what i've gathered the Spikescender is meant to sit between the gaff and the shank.
  5. There's a protrusion on the back of the gaffs on the X2's that the Kiwiklimber doesn't allow for plus the Kiwiklimber is flat whereas the shank of the X2's are curved where the gaff are located. I sent them back to HB asking them to send me the Arbpro spike ascender and to refund me the difference. I feel that Kiwiklimbers should publish a definitive list of compatible spikes with their product on there website and to pass that list on to all online retailers selling the Kiwiclimber.
  6. Indeed, Assumption is the root of most fuck ups! I bought the Kiwi Klimbers from H.B, i should be able to return them. They definitely won't fit the X2's.
  7. I purchased the Kiwi Klimbers ascender for my Stein X2 spikes assuming they would be compatible with each other but alas no. Any advice? Thanks.
  8. Thanks for your input, i wear class 2's. Sent from my SM-G389F using Tapatalk

  21. I'm thinking of updating my lanyard adjustment setup, I'm currently using a distel hitch with a length of 8mm eye to eye and a pinto as a fair lead. I find it binds up after a few hours of use and is a pain in the arse to adjust in or out. I'm looking at either the Petzl Zillon or the ART positioner with swivel, any thoughts, comments or feedback on these products would be most welcome, Thanks in advance lads.
  22. Not just in Arb and Forestry, it's a massive problem.
  23. Does your Misses run it by you when she's looking at a new pair of heels or a designer handbag? Is she paying for a new pair of saw trousers for you? If no is the answer to my two questions you need to take your balls out of her hand bag and buy the Pfanners, It's you that will be spending all Day in them in all weathers and it's your money, go on treat yourself to those new Pfanners, you know you want to!
  24. Thanks for the input, i turned the h jet all the way anti-clockwise and adjusted the l jet and idle. She's idling at around 2,600 and the pick up is good. Max rpm recorded on the tach was 12,750 or there abouts. The litmus test is putting it through some wood of course, Thanks.
