  1. Hi log, I have not done lots with it yet but have done a few test peices and I am impressed. I bought mine from , internet Gardner .co.uk for £439. I think that is the best price around . You can adjust the ram stroke and it has a 10m cable . I will try and put a for up today for you to see. I have ordered a 4 way wedge from machine mart as they are the cheapest for them, hope it fits. £17 delivered. When I phoned riko they wanted 530 inc delivery.
  2. I think the host is walnut, but not sure. What do you think? The pic is a small shoot next to the main tree. Same leaf pattern.
  3. After another chainsaw? Did you buy a cheap one before?
  4. You may be better off asking that question in a new thread so people see the request. use it as the title.
  5. Hi. I would guess about 4m3 in the pic. I collect and cut my own so unsure on cost. I am sure there are many on here that could give you a price. I also store cut disks ready to be split up the side of the garden with no cover. Looks better than the fence. The wood sap is the main concern not the rain on the side. If there is enough airflow it will dry off quickly.
  6. How many slats you can take off will depend on the condition of the shed. Take as many as poss. If it gets a bit unstable you can put a few diagonal slats in to sure it up.
  7. Remove timbers on 3 sides and remove the door. A log store is not too bothered by rain as long as the top is covered.
  8. Wood stacked well will look better than a shed full of holes.
  9. Put a pallet on the floor at allow the air to flow. If you are going to fill the shed with wood and dont care for the shed , you could remove everyother board across the back and take the door off. If the shed is long with the door on the narrow face it may still go mouldy. Another option if you have acess to the front and rear? Remove the front and back narrow sides, put a stud frame in the middle and make two stores. That way you can have wood drying and a store in use.
  10. Very poor firewood, little heat and spits lots, very light when dry.
  11. Hi fonzy, how did fit the back bar to the valve? Is it fixed or it there an amount of play on the split pin.
  12. The man on the vid has not got a clue about chainsaw's!
  13. They grind the same surface as the other chain grinders, but a lot cheaper.
  14. Hi doo, I moded my splitter today to work on the right hand lever,I left the other side so i can use it two handed if i wished. What you do to your kit is up to you. Remove the right arm, cut the plate (as in the picture. Red line) to remove the top "peg". Cut away the box under the handle to let the bar travel further down. Bend the hand guard so the handle is not fouled. With the table of the splitter in the top position, trim the guard so it clears the table. Done. Took about 10 mins, small grinder, lump hammer, small hacksaw and a file. AS I SAID , WHAT YOU DO TO YOUR OWN KIT IS UP TO YOU. Please no lectures.
  15. This grinder can save on files as well as time. Good if you damage the chain and need to take off a bit more than norm.
  16. Yes jon, off the net, I was told at the time is was the cheapest place to buy and great service(and it was). Are you linked ?
  17. I got one from Mole valley farmers and its great. Its good for grinding a chain thats hit a few nails etc but also the egde seens to last a bit longer, maybee a small amount of heat treatment (hardening) on the cutting egde. Well worth £20. Still need to set the height by hand.
  18. Hi doobin, I have just ordered the Handy Pro 7 electric splitter from Internet Gardener: Garden Furniture, BBQs and Outdoor Living at a very good price. I see from your earlier posts that you wanted to mod the splitter to be one handed? Did you do it and how? By cannabilising the wedge do you mean cutting the side wings of or something else. Any chance of any Pic's?
  19. Short straps will work, but you will not be able to load the bags when they are hanging. If you make up two beams and hang the staps from them you could load the bags from the start. Could work better i think.
