A totally good idea I saw a low tech thing like that on ebay once using scafhold poles but could not find it again ,I would totally be into getting one or why dont we all get together and make and sell something I have a big workshop with welding cutting milling etc could make us a heap of cash

So yeah skip chain worked a real treat got to admit I was surprised at how well it went through the Cedar until I caught the very edge of the coach screws holding my ladder to the 2nd log but not many cutters to sharpen ,the Atlas Cedar is so heavy compared to western red Bloody caught my bad ankle with one of the boards that slipped thought I was heading to the hospital when it first happened but was lucky it just hurts like F##c ,will try and get some pics of the boards up .   5. Chainsaw Milling some Blue Cedar today it will be my first time chainsaw milling in ages and first time using a skip chain will report on how I find it later should be good fun
  6. You could always drop the Elm off at mine and I will mill it no probs ,just dont see any Elm at all its crap .

  11. Hi mate yeah all sealed and stickered ,that was fresh cut but the colours were fading when I was stacking them but still super chuffed Big Thanks ,got a nice big cherry tree coming dowm on Wednesday any tips for when I mill it .

  15. Thanks Saul for those pictures ,its bloody heavy that Strawberry Tree we struggled getting it on the mill its ready for Monday and I will post some pics.

  17. Hi I have a bottle of White Vinegar that had iron fillings in it for a good few months sieved out the fillings and now I can rub that on Oak and send it blue it needs a good wash after to get rid of the viniger smell but works really well .

  19. ,Hi Saul,the Strawberry is next its just the way all the logs ended up in the yard had to mill my way through the stack as we sadly still dont have a forklift hopefully I will get a restart grant and get a forklift ,so looking forward to milling the Strawberry I now have one of those banding things to strap my boards with .

  21. Hi Steve hows things all good I hope ,so mullberry is a bugger to dry then ,stunning colour got 8 boards out of the small bit I got a much bigger bit for tomorrow or Friday should get 12/14 inch wide boards from it.

  23. Wow I have some 3 inch air dry 6/7 yrs now with way more colours in it I will drag a plank out tomorrow for a photo
