  1. I feel for you buddy, hope you get a good outcome.
  2. Ok boys I'm going to put my neck out here and post my latest video. Hope you like it.
  3. Mate, my job is to climb trees not the hiring and firing. I couldn't give a stuff if he stays or goes.
  4. I work at knights tree services as a climber/team leader & as he said he is a fair boss. Personally I wouldn't of had the patience with the lad. 18 months into the job and he still can't be left to finish off a stump, never mind fell or dismantle a tree. I can honestly say, as I've seen it with my own eyes he has had lots of mentoring and time spent with him to help him along. Kev has even took him out on weekends to help him with his weaknesses. The lad is a lovely person but is not work motivated in the slightest, let's just say his interests lay elsewhere. He is not on the forum as is not interested in the industry. For him it is a job, which is fine but I feel if you want to do well in this industry you have got to have that spark and love for it like so many of us do. I think the reason the post was put up is that kev is a nice guy & I think he was hoping someone might say something along the lines of "I had a lad that was like that but 2 years down the line he is an absolute asset to me". He really does do all he can and I know letting the lad go is the last thing he wants to do, but unfortunately he is running a business and this lad is costing money to have on site. Before anyone says anything no I'm not after a pay rise lol.
  5. Presumed as he has no tickets he was just dragging brash. Is this the case ?
  6. But once you have your tickets and experience you will be able to make him more money, which in turn will mean you get more money. We've all got to start somewhere mate
  7. My feeling is it is a little on the low side, but like you said there will always be someone else willing to take your place. My advice would be to get your tickets, it's the only way you will progress
  8. Rob, watching your videos it always amazes me what you can do with your alaskan. Have you considered running alaskan workshops. I have an alaskan and would love to be able to produce something like this. All the best.
  9. I use a similar set up for ascending, once at the top I ditch the strap & connect straight on to the zz as I find moving around the crown easier with the device close

    Apf

May not of looked the best stand but was nice to meet u & put a few faces to names. Couldn't have done too bad, I wanted one of the maroon t shirts in large & they were sold out.
  11. I have. About 2 years ago in a blackthorn, was made out of barbed wire.
  12. Lol, nothing like a bit of self praise billy. It's easy to say you should have spotted them yourself but you do get a better picture from the ground. Had you taken your rope out?
  13. Really enjoyed watching the race at APF. Fair play to both. Though the vid was put together very well indeed.
  14. It's good that they replace them hassle free but it is a concern. I climb on my zz daily and love the device, but in the back of my head I just think its a matter of time until I find a crack. I was told that petzl tested the zz @ zillion with broken links and it still works and holds but you wouldn't get me climbing on it. Also not sure if it's the same with zz but there is a new model of zillion being released October with stronger rivets. Petzl are obviously aware there is a problem, I just hope no one gets hurt. Keep safe lads
  15. Thanks very much. I love it. It's my first Landy & don't think I'll ever get a different make of vehicle.
  16. Thought I'd join in & add a few pics of my Landy.
  17. Just got home from work to find my replacement side strop from honey brothers as promised. That's less than 24 hrs.
  18. Noticed this crack on my zillion today, just seems to of appeared from nowhere. Was using it yesterday and it was fine. I've been climbing on a zigzag for 6 months now and to be honest have lost a little faith in it. I'm gutted as I love climbing on the device. On a positive note I phoned honey brothers who I bought it off and they were amazing to deal with. I have a replacement already on its way, was offered a refund but think I'll give it another go. They've not even got my broken one back yet. Would like to take the opportunity to thank honey brothers for such an excellent service. Anytime I have used HB I have received tip top service and would highly recommend them to anyone.
  19. Lol, your neighbours must think your nuts
  20. I'm out on the morning goose flight this sat can't wait. Here's a vid it did last season to wet your appetite. Good luck guys & stay safe
  21. They look lovely, might have ago at something like this my self.
