  1. Hi Ben I was in the woodfest pole climbing with you. My first time up the pole, rubbish time but had a great weekend. Would post my gopro footage but don't want to embarrass myself. Like Ben said, relaxed day and friendly atmosphere
  2. I did a sycamore dismantle on mine today and really enjoyed it. I do inspect it before each use but been climbing on it for a few months now and my only gripe is that I wish it self tendered on 13mm rope, apart from that it's spot on.
  3. Gutted reading this I've been climbing in mine for a while now and really like it but I'm just waiting for it to break. What about the zillion any problems with that?
  4. How do you load the greenmech onto the back of the truck. Nice trailer too, will look boss once signed
  5. Well I've been splitting on mine for the past few hours and it's brill. If I turn the revs up I can't keep up with it, seems sturdy but only time will tell I suppose
  6. Sorry for the late reply. I bought the splitter from KTM Machinery. Came built on a pallet ready to go for 2k. Really happy with it so far, has split everything I've thrown at it. I've been smashing through 3 rings at a time no probs. the machine is diesel and has a rev adjuster the lowest setting is fine for me as I can't keep up with it if I sack the revs up, but I imagine that would be good if you had a second person.
  7. I was told by ktm machinery that they build them theirselves in Devon. It's got a British stamp on it but not seen the production line or anything
  8. I nearly bought 1 a few weeks ago but got one of these instead. Really happy with it, seems really sturdy British built by KTM Machinery
  9. I'd want more than day rate for that. Fair play
  10. Mine arrived today. Pretty impressed so far but I'll run it through its paces over the weekend

Where are you mate I'd be interested in a piece
  12. Where are you mate?
  13. I quoted for a job last year to be told by the tree officer that there was a TPO so removal of the tree was out of the question. I explained this to the customer and that was the end of it. A few months down the line I get a phone call asking if I carried out the work. I made a detour on my way home 1 night and someone had dismantled the tree and left a right mess.
  14. I can't see why someone would rather ZHC over being self employed. If someone was on ZHC wouldn't the employer then have to provide them with PPE. I was once threatened with ZHC, when I asked what it was I was told by my employer that it meant I had to phone him every morning and ask if I was needed. I then pointed out that it's not a problem, I have all my own kit & tickets, I'll just leave.
  15. My guess is based upon I recon a bulk bag of soft wood is around 300kg max so 25t would give you around 70 bags. This however a total guess
  16. Be interesting to know the answer but I'm going to take a guess and say 70. Let's see what others come back with
  17. Just been reading a thread on hear about people asking you to chip their garden waste and someone added that they put the option of stump removal on their quotes. This got me thinking, what do you guys include in your quotes? Normally I go see a customer, they tell me what they want and I give them a price. Just ordered a log splitter may be I should add that as an option.
  18. Well thanks for all the tips and pointers lads. I spoke to rob last week and have ordered my mill. I found rob very helpful and plesent to deal with. There was no hard sale, just advice and guidance. Anyone looking to purchase an alaskan should at least give him a call, you won't be disappointed. Fingers crossed it will arrive early next week so I'll let you all know how I get on
  19. Top job, enjoyed watching that.
  20. If I spoke to riko could I change the wheels for something decent, so I could manage it on my tod. I like the look of the Thor magic as it has 14" wheels & looks good to move around but can't stretch to 3k Thanks
