    Cheap chains???

there crap.... stick to Oregon and Stihl !!
  3. Don't think you'll get many that will argue that like mate! Stihl chain is excellent, not used the bars yet even though I have one!
  4. I used a brand new flat file today and it wouldn't even touch the rakers!! It's going to have to be done with a grinder!
  5. I've used 2 chains for the past few weeks, I won't be buying any more! The metal is soft and it's so easy to take edge off and the chrome too, then you don't get the edge back! just general forestry work, I've lost 5 cutters and bent 1.... put a Oregon chain on and the difference is night and day.
  6. I thought all harvester chain is 404?
  7. Firewood? I hope you gave the customer a good slap! Beautiful timber!
  8. very interesting info there..... I defo agree these saws all run hot.... muffler mod needed on them all!
  9. I've had my 555 since May June ish 2013.... yes it's auto tune. the base gasket went and was leaking chain oil, that got replaced under warranty and the oil pump stopped working, that's the only major problems I had with it apart from the usual AV springs and clutch and drum problems.... my 560 how ever is 2 year old and has been fully rebuilt twice as bearings went, oil pump went, and a faulty carb meant it want picking up quick enough. I love the saws though, just Husqvarna need to sort the stupid reliability problems out!!
  10. I run one, it's basically a 560, just the carb is different. Good saws when they working right, light powerful, good balance.
  11. I use the gaffa's 390 that has been ported by spud... we run it on a 24" bar and it just rips through the timber!! Awesome saw.... get it done, you'll love it!

    Pigeons

a .22 air rifle with moderator! If there nice fat woodies... cut the breast meat out and make a nice dinner! Sorted!
  13. the chain should sharpen up and cut ok, the prominent tip dose not look damaged at all! I think you been lucky actually! I've just got a couple of these chains to run on my 560, I've got a wind blown oak to sort first thing then off to fell some spruce later on! the chain wasn't very sharp out the packet, looking forward to getting my own edge on it to see how it fairs up! One good point is that it don't stretch like what Oregon chain does!
  14. that stuff is excellent and it's quite a dry lube!
  15. a 560 exhaust is about £60 so around there id guess
  16. Aww gutted... loved him in Die Hard! Cancer... what a total *unt of a disease!
  17. i will aspen when it's £1 per litre!!
  18. AI... awesome bit of kit... doubt you get much change out of 3k Mark... you lucky b******
  19. led lenser.... excellent range of head torches
  20. you want a 11mm rope so that it feeds through the zigzag freely! Yale blue tongue is a popular choice! ian
  21. what's wrong with the 555?? I have one and think it's a great saw, apart from the usual breaking, AV springs, clutches, clutch springs and rubbish oil pumps.... but all of that went on my 560 so!
  22. Area?? North Yorkshire is a big place! Sorry to hear he got dun over!
