  1. Love it! He, or she? doesn't look very happy.... looks decidedly miserable! Has he/she just witnessed a friend or family member being squished by passing traffic? cheers, Steve
  2. "Otherwise". *dammit* couldn't resist.
  3. Dale loves the colour.
  4. Was about to ask how the squirrel went.... please do upload your photos. cheers, steve
  5. I'd like to add a slice of humble pie into this thread by saying "I agree with all of you". If anyone else wants a slice of my humble pie.... no way, it's mine, all mine. cheers, steve
  6. I've been watching Building Alaska.... interesting program but a lot of it looks like a bodge job, especially when it comes to the more detailed parts. Also looks like they don't need to build to any regulations. cheers, steve
  7. Yeah, such a kind and considerate thing to do
  8. You had an apology AND a payment in consideration?!!!! Did I just read that right??? Didn't know you could make a claim. cheers, steve
  9. Madness, I have two solutions.... a) get the hedge Grade 1 listed b) put up "No Access for Fat People" signs cheers, steve
  10. Wow! At least you actually got an apology! They must like you....
  11. p.s.... have you tried getting through on their telephone scam hotline lately?!!.... at least 65 million phone calls per annum with many on hold for at least 30 minutes, some for over an hour. It's a massive money spinner.
  12. If you've done nowt wrong then you've done nowt wrong. It really is as simple as that. Our recent problem was (according to HMRC) a late filing penalty for a partnership return. We refused to pay the fine because it was entirely due their own administration errors.... so the threatening letters commenced and promptly escalated to many thousands of £'s!!.... and then the debt collection agency (instructed by HMRC) were threatening us, phoning us, etc. So of course.... the debt was written off by HMRC and admitted it was their fault.... but no apology.... and because they are so rubbish at communication and basic admin the threatening letters, etc continued. What a joke!! Sorry, ranting!... cheers, steve
  13. Absolutely. Ours went in under 'professional costs'... claimed 100% of it. cheers, steve
  14. Blimey, that really is early, isn't it? cheers, steve
  15. I don't have enough swear words to express my thoughts of HMRC.... they are totally unfit for purpose, especially in terms of communication (or lack of). My thoughts are that if the training is related to your business then claim 100% of it. cheers, steve
  16. Did he show you how to start a saw like a yo-yo?.... the sign of a true professional! (just kidding).
  17. Good man. After the initial start and topping up levels (oil & water), removing air locks, squeezing pipes, etc I run an engine until the cooling fan cuts in and out (pick the revs up high / but not flat out revs).... if there's something wrong it's most likely to show itself at full heat & pressure. You probably already know that. cheers, steve
  18. When I worked in garages we used to use blue Hylomar, clean off the rust and pop a thin smear around the edge... Hylomar – Non-Setting Compounds cheers, steve
  19. Noticed lots of frog spawn in our pond and ditches today.... quite early I'd say. Anyone here noticed any spawn? cheers, steve
  20. Have you got all the gear they say you require for the course?.... eg; they'll probably stipulate wearing gloves with protection. cheers, steve
  21. Haha! Look forwards to seeing your squirrel, um, squirrel thing. Maybe it'll look like something from Lord of the Rings? cheers, steve
  22. Haha! How odd... that's exactly what my partner said. You could be onto a winner there! cheers, steve
  23. My thoughts are that it doesn't look like a serious "professional" carving but it certainly has a great character .... I bet young kids would love it, so maybe worth asking for their thoughts on it?.... cheers, steve
  24. Hi Jon, our vets did our dogs balls & microchipped him for free... it's a scheme setup for farm dogs. So if you have a smallholding/ farm holding number you might be able to get it free too. We're in Wales but maybe the scheme runs in England too? cheers, steve
  25. I know what you are saying Jon, doesnt seem right. But so I'm told it can help to stop them running off so much.... looking for some good lady time. Although our Jack Russell seems pretty content with pinning the chickens down - naughty boy!! cheers, steve
