  1. Go for it!... just don't read any research linked to sports drink manufacturers, or the milk marketing board! cheers, steve
  2. That'll be great to find out.... especially if you could manage to do similar work loads in each week. cheers, steve
  3. oh dear... that's really not good! cheers, steve
  4. In bold for those that missed this glorious pun joke! cheers, steve
  5. No, they did proper medical tests.... not by just asking them how they felt. cheers, steve
  6. Interesting. I think it takes about 12 hours (or something like that) for the milk to take good effect. Would be interesting to find out if you ache a lot more by cutting the milk out (for a week). If you fancy that challenge! cheers, steve
  7. There's been a fair amount of research into muscle recovery after a good work out and drinking milk was found to be one of the best.... There was something on TV a while ago where they tested two Rugby teams. After the game one side had milk and the other had some kind of Sports drink. Drinking the milk resulted in a 50% shorter muscle recovery time when compared with the sports drink. Arb work can be quite demanding physically so I'm wondering if anyone else likes a glass of white stuff, or anything else? cheers, steve
  8. Cor blimey guv, what kinda service dya call this?!! I want my money back!! cheers, steve
  9. Is this for our trees Murray?... if so then I'd be happy to give a guided tour of them whilst they are still standing. cheers, steve
  10. Have you pimped a Husky 550 or 560 yet?... or is autotune bit of a mare? Not that I'm looking to get my 550 ported but who knows, maybe one day! cheers, steve
  11. Oh jeesh! I fear you are right!!.... the Husky 550xp is maximum 14,000rpm according to this: Stuart Brown Landscape and Arborist Supplies - Husqvarna 550 XP Thanks for putting me right on that cheers, steve
  12. Interesting to hear a different view.... I felt the open landscape and small number of trees worked because it felt like an emerging business, which is what he describes. cheers, steve
  13. I think the Dolmar 5105 looks great and I'd love to try one (never even held one). As a long term concern I'd be worried about the maximum revs on the Dolmar being so high (at 13,800rpm). The Husky 550 revs at 10,200rpm maximum and I'd say that's plenty high enough. cheers, steve
  14. Nicely filmed & edited. Have you considered mentioning the type of logs you supply? eg; hardwood, softwood or mixed... and maybe mention they are locally sourced, or UK sourced, if they are? cheers, steve
  15. Great video and well explained. Nice one, I've not done any milling yet but good to learn some of the basics. cheers, Steve
  16. I have a 550xpg (2013) and so far it's been 100% reliable - I've cut a fair amount with it. Whatever you get worth having the heated handle version, I reckon. My ideal setup would be: Small saw: Husky battery saw (zero petrol and very quiet/ but a shame about the price). Medium saw: Husky 550xpg (medium tree felling, snedding, etc). Large saw: Stihl 880 (large trees & Alaskan milling). There's my thoughts. cheers, steve
  17. The woodland nice seem to nobble all of our squirrel trap bait within half an hour of setting it! The cars do a much better job at getting the blighters. cheers, steve
  18. ".?" ....that's called a full stop. A full stop is not a sentence in its own right. Hope this helps. cheers, steve
  19. Kind of an important one this.... will all of the threads from this version of Arbtalk be fully migrated into the new forum?... and still be open for comments? ie, not in some archive format. cheers, steve
  20. I've been told it's best to freeze them first before feeding into the chipper. cheers, steve
  21. Good plan, I reckon, especially if you find yourself delivering a single bag a lot of the time. Worth noting that a lot of the smaller vans have pretty low trailer weights, if that's a consideration? eg; A Peugeot Partner would be 1100kg Max gross trailer weight for a braked trailer and only 500kg Max for an unbraked trailer. Although there is an 800kg payload version of the Peugeot Partner.... if you can fit two bags inside? cheers, steve
  22. Supertato is impressed with the speed of delivery!....
  23. Could it have an ability to see thumbnails of recently posted photos.... a click on the thumbnail would link to that particular post. There are lots of great images posted on Arbtalk and would be nice to see the ones I've missed. cheers, steve
