    My accident

Sorry to find this post, although a stranger, I can still wish you a speedy and full recovery. Difficult times ahead but you WILL get through it. Best Regards Dave.
  2. Hi to all, Dave from MLS 53 in April! Usual aches and pains, bend knees to hear em crack like dried twigs, teenage shoulder injury now playing up particular in wet weather! latest is hernia op in Feb, although consultant said not just my age group suffer from this so not all bad.
  3. Hi, looking at use of tracked barrows, have you sold this item as I'm organizing demo of a 322 boxer machine and looking at additional costs for such a machine. Thanks, Dave

    Quotes you like!

He doesn't know his pineus from his elbow You don't need qualifications to do your job. Said by one of my 1st customers! When all else fails get a bigger hammer. My granddad when trying to fix his lorry. I think we need a bigger boat 'Jaws'
  5. My mum had that for years then health deteriorated in her thirties/forties so she had to have surgery she's in her eighties now so it worked. As I remember prior to op tried to eat little and often to reduce excess acid problems and avoided any foods which seemed to aggravate the symptoms, it was the excess acid and the medication not working which meant she had to have the op. As tcar said hernias don't cure themselves.
  6. That's great hope it all works out for you.
  7. Curious, Where about you based? As I was in similar situation wondering which direction to go in after family situation. At present staying self employed!
  8. Thanks will look at that brand was tending to go with Riko but not rushing as want to buy right kit to last rather than cheap and have to replace
  9. Posted question on a different thread wondered what electric splitter your friend using as I'm looking for a suitable unit for using at home but not wanting to risk upsetting the neighbours with excessive noise
  10. Thicko here assuming remote is just for moving machine around so machine should'nt move should it when chipping/
  11. Just curious anyone any recommendations for a splitter for home use I have a 20hp mini tractor so could use pto drive off that, but I'm concerned not to upset neighbours with engine running for long time,so probably electric? As stacks of logs for home use, at present biggest sections approx 30" dia.x24" long, manual splitting not an option due to recent op and realizing not invincible anymore! Thanks
  12. Glad you had fun, boy's and their new toys, when I got mine I could'nt stop grinning as it just like you said spat the stuff out. Happy chipping
  13. Mine didn't have lashing points so I fitted towing balls front and back to chassis plate with extra flat bar at back so machine secure forwards/backwards when in trailer extend tracks out so in theory more stable when cornering other thought when using need to keep checking chute direction bolts stay tight now use rubber mallet to make sure. Thanks for info about redwood using clear tanks I'll give them a ring re clear tank for mine.
  14. Hi, about 120hrs, more niggles than problems, Conifer can build up around top bearing/roller/spring if not routinely cleared top roller stops meeting bottom roller. Would prefer easier way of checking fuel level when bought redwood said they would retro fit clear tank not happened so far! fueling up from 5gal containers can be messy now use funnel with clear pipe threaded through feeder speed cables. When bought hydraulic oil leaked from cap redwood replaced cap and tube still leaked once oil warm, now oil when cold just seen in bottom of tube not on red line can still have some leakage if machine running long time 4/5hrs mostly machine not running non stop so oil has time to cool so no leak!

    I am back

Wishing you all the best I like reading your posts. My dad suffered similar and made full recovery but it did take time, he found it frustrating having to take it very steady! Your post has helped me put my emergency hernia op(Feb) into perspective!
  16. Happy with my tr6 sure you will be pleased with yours, got ours before new improved TW so I was comparing forst with previous trTw and forst had the better engineering and warranty.
  17. £5 just for their business card and here's me just handing mine out for free. Photos look v. similar to Peters.
  18. What a mess easy to say 'should have' go talk to TO direct to try to sort problem hopefully you are not at pos. fine stage. Sympathies with easy job becoming such a pain.

    Frost chipper

Have to check mine just thought they were bumps, still useful if my eyesight starts to fail its said as one sense fails others improve tree work by touch and hearing scarily interesting.
  20. This is a great forum here was me thinking to sell logs from home like a few near me as unlike them cut logs piling up and too much for home wood burner. Best rethink as definitely a curtain twitcher about.
  21. As last post, looking to replace old trooper with pick up, making it a little tipper would have been nice to increase its usefulness.
  22. As other posts, cutting tops neat and level just comes with practice and experience. I have no jobs where customer would pay for hire of mewp, though would look impressive rolling up to site etc with that kit. Just be versatile for each hedge if can be done from ground with long reach kit great, or combi ladders, builders trestles +scaffolding boards, for tall stuff to reach across top I use ladders with approx. 5ft 8"x1" board f(securely) reduces dints in hedge and reduces risk of ladder + you falling through. Just be careful on the taller stuff make sure what ever your stood on is stable.
  23. I've started getting back into tree game after years of mainly garden work, had forgotten costs of getting all those tickets and like above don't forget ample insurance to cover you if self employed and business think about if do a job and it goes wrong how would you pay the claims against you or if your kit gets nicked, if no cover. But don't be put off its a good life!
  24. Try to feed hedge stuff with brash through chipper to speed up rotting /reduce bulk On site try to use brown bin for all rakings or any stuff with risk of soil/gravel some customers will not let me use their brown bin so that stuff has to come back with me stored in bulk bags to rot then bag up for council tip or let build up and get a skip and chuck anything/everything in to get moneys worth. Did have small shredder 5hp great til bod fed long piece of wood wrecked it he was sacked but figured took to much time to shred anyway certainly not worth wage cost for that set up.
