  1. Lyons e If you only just got the machine and not been travelling about with it, how did they know you had a nice shiny chipper to nick or do you think it was bad luck they hit you when they did? either way still rough.
  2. Good one catching thief even better photos of can burner. Now back to thought of ideal truck ignoring any regs.
  3. Yep watched TV program a bit back interviewing thieves they looked on it all as their job we were the mugs for working honestly and it didn't matter as we all had insurance. Yet again the TV received a great amount of verbal abuse.

Thats a big hit to take sorry I was done few years back but nothing on that scale suspect local chap but couldn't prove it just given crime number police wouldn't go round told me not to either or I could get in trouble! with police!
  5. Been thinking of buying an electric splitter having read posts will try fiskars stuff first and stick with axe only doubt is how to quickly breaking up 2ft dia. plus rings seems to take me ages with axe and hand tools.
  6. Still a potential minefield, I now use home as base with 4x4 + IFW trailer When looked at replacing 4x4 told by dealer new one would have to have tacho fitted for £1200! Carn't go bigger than 3.5T as would need O licence and no chance of using residential for parking up 7.5T truck if I could at least 4 bods near me would be swapping transits for trucks. Spoke to machinery dealer when he was delivering machine he said he has tacho fitted as bulk of his work is driving didn't think I needed one as driving not my main work I'm commuting to place of work! Now read posts worried I am wrong?
  7. I've the stihl one which I've not had any problems with wizzies through stuff, not used Echo so can't comment used stihl Kombi with extra extension section not convinced seems wobbly and noisier from connection slots.
  8. Sorry to see your post hope with it being specialized for tree work it will be easier to get back. All the best Dave.
  9. Hi, just wanted to say how much I have enjoyed reading your posts, found them by accident then read through them all over last few late nights! Refreshing good positive view on life in spite of the bad stuff. Even so I couldn't have resisted those mince pies.
  10. I've the Tr6 and have said same about debris build up around top roller had to use narrow nosed pliers sharp chisel and penknife to clear piece of thorn that had got well and truelly stuck!Redwood are fixing problem and will let me know when their going to fit it. Its still a great machine with excellent service and backup.

Just to up date my previous post re hydraulic leak when hot has cured itself don't know how but been filling to mark with no problems agree with rest great machine no regrets with choice.
  12. I got Husky Rider 316T AWD for churchyard work on slopes! was very sceptical that it would be up to the job but after a years use I think its a brilliant machine and hasnt let me down appreciate your looking at top end machine so a lot more of money than mine so be sure of who is going to use it otherwise look at Toro, Kubota or John Deere out fronts but they are a lot more money but proper commercial kit I've used or owned in the past Toro and kubota v. good machines but too wide/heavy/expensive for work I've got now.
  13. Have always used Hondas but when looking to replace 4 wheeler looked at etesia and hayter rather than just sticking with what I knew. After a try and speaking to chap that services my machines his advice was they were expensive for what they were and advised me to stick with Hondas. I find with biocut you have to be cutting the grass more frequent than my customers want (every 2 wks) with wet or long grass had to raise the deck to cut and grass tended to ball up. Best try on worst site before you buy.
  14. Hi When I started out I never took to hayter with old B&S engines so have used Hondas for last 25 years now have 4 wheel version and the roller type for customers that need stripes. Like previous posts they are heavy. Now have to run 'em up ramps! But they do the job not cheap new £200 is cheap so check it out properly I once bought a bargin for £150 it lasted 3 months before gearbox and clutch plates went. Check ali deck has no fracture cracks along bottom edge or in deck and see if any play in blade clutch hope this helps.

Ive TR6 unit really pleased with it prior hired other makes but liked build quality of this machine only few niggles 1) no fuel gauge or easy way to check 2) Hydraulic oil came out of filler pipe when proper warmed up 3) Rubbish build up around top roller feed barrings shaft. Redwood say white tank due soon, found oil doesnt come out when hot if oil in tank when cold below line in sight glass. Cover plates to be retro fitted to stop debris build up. Redwood have phoned twice since purchase to check Im happy with machine and to keep me informed of developments and wanting my feedback. 2 months after purchase sent fitter out for free to check adjust hydraulics as they thought there might be a problem although I had not been aware so just let them do it!
  16. Quick reply I'll be interested in your opinions on said machine as I had demo of tracked machine 22/3/13 and thought it a good unit
  17. Your right it is cost, when I had demo told due to exchange rate of importing Jensen and something to do with cost of kubota engines in Germany
  18. I contacted Redwoods for demo of a Jensen A530t. the dealer arrived with a what looked like the jensen but was a Forst machine of the the same spec. My understanding is the Forst machine is being built in Britain by Redwoods but uses a lot of jensen components, I measured demo machine which is approx same length as Jensen but is approx 80cm wide mainly due to hinge for discharge tube and access panel. has open flywheel with two big blades think 8" but not sure.Wt. approx 1.3T so heavier than timberwolf which is just over a ton greenmech safetrack 1.4T but plenty of groundclearance if you need it. easy to access parts to service central 4 point grease point. Fed through usual selection of dif. material which it dealt with similar performance as any other chipper if processsing wet green leafy eg privet, leylandii hegde clippings just feed brash in then no probs. Looks well built am going to speak with Redwood today as need reassurance re back up as no local dealer and no user/owner track record and timberwolf dealer just matched offer/deal! Regards David
