  1. Showery yesterday and sunny spells today... so far.
  2. Yesterday was good in both respects. It was sunny but not too warm and we won. However, there were a few injuries. Today cloud is hovering around 1750ft and it's a tad damp. Which suits my brother and his running partner well. Yesterday watching the match in the M.S. and today an extended training run for the OMM in dismal conditions - just the way they will have wished for.
  3. Um. Only just noticed; that should've been, "... The saw started without a hitch and ran all day without a hiccup."
  4. I recently left half a tank of Aspen in a saw for ten weeks without starting it. When I needed to use it. The saw started without a hitch and ran all day with a hiccup.
  5. Try not to but there always that 'just one more cut' and that's when it run out. Not a problem to restart afterward though.
  6. Nice one.
  7. Forecast scattered but heavy showers. So far it's been mainly a blue sky, with hardly a cloud and a very slight breeze. Another day when I might have to water the garden.

    Jokes???

    That really made me laugh.
  9. Been pretty good. Threatened a shower but never actually got there. Light breeze and mild.
  10. To what degree is the space insulated? If it's nowt or thereabouts, then the bigger the better. But having such a high ceiling, is always going to mean, that most of the heat will be where people are not. Any chance of fitting two stoves, (one at either end)?
  11. Muck and engine oil - must remember that one. Good final outcome too.
  12. Might be able to pick up a Stihl 088 or Husky 390/395. Comparable to Stihl's 880 is Husky's 3120XP.
  13. Not been too windy, except for night before last. But plenty of the wet stuff.
  14. And maybe less cows?
  15. Thank you. I've passed that along to my rock climbing friends too.
  16. I got ripped by a garage in Kendal on brakes. I'd taken it there, as they were the main dealers but I've made it a point to never use them again.
  17. Ditto.
  18. If it needs grease, then grease it. If it's got enough clean grease, don't give it any more. If it should have grease but hasn't got any, make an appointment with the bank manager.
  19. Started a saw beginning of this week, that hadn't been touched in the previous ten weeks. It had been left with half a tank of Aspen in it. Come the need, it started without any fuss and ran perfectly. Try that with ordinary pump fuel.
  20. No need for sacrificial 'lambs' around here.
  21. Yesterday was showers and bright dry spells. While on the moors there was rolling fog, (really just the cloud base at around 1800ft).

    Stihl 881?

If it's not broke. Don't attempt to fix it.
  23. Nice one!
  24. What he said. And have a look at the Stihl MS211.
  25. Why are they cutting the branches? Is it because they don't like the tree or you or because they think there's more chance that a plant/s will thrive given more light. You could throw some Columbine seeds over their garden. Nice delicate flowers on long stems, 10" spread, approx. 8" high; and like poppies, once they have one, they'll have many more. Unlike poppies, the roots of columbine go down some 8-10". They're a bugger to get rid of unless you catch them early and could easily swamp their garden in 2-3yrs.
