  1. I was under the impression, that it was raining everywhere. So there, there and there was about right. Suffice to say, somewhere in the middle and a bit to the left/west.
  2. Lion... getting my coat, it's raining out there.
  3. I use these things: [ame=http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nite-glow-keyring-illuminates-colour/dp/B000EXZNAA?th=0]Nite glow keyring - illuminates for ten years - blue colour: Amazon.co.uk: Kitchen & Home@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/018MV3CM7PL.@@AMEPARAM@@018MV3CM7PL[/ame] Mind you, you still have to be able to see them. So buried in mud would make things harder.
  4. Well it was supposed to have stopped raining by now. But rain it was and rain it is but there's no wind. Rivers are pumping though, so great for paddling.
  5. Jon's post made sense to me. Even if it is a crime against knowledge & books to burn them, (unless they're Mills and Boon).
  6. Thousand. K or k is short for a thousand. kilo = kilo gram / 1,000 grams K or km = 1 kilometre / 1,000 metres K or k has just made it across in common language to refer to and quantity of a thousand/s.
  7. Not really that fussed about rugby but am happy when a certain squad wins. However, the game has lost a great player in Jonah Lomu and the world, a great sportsman. Sad to have gone at such an early age.
  8. Never mind about breathing out. How on earth did it breath in.
  9. Just remember - when you're knee deep in water, you're not baling quick enough.
  10. You should be rubbing your hands Jon. Winds like these could knock over sizeable trees and where you get big trees, you get big butts.
  11. Had overcast with little rain or wind. Then rain, lots of rain, no rain with high gusting wind. And latterly chucking it down with high gusting wind.
  12. 62 DL should fit a 250's 16" bar. Is it a lot too short; could the bar be an 18"? Lay the chain loop on its side and actually count the number of DLs. Is there actually 62?
  13. Got up around 05:15 and slightly surprised to find it's not raining. Guess the ship building is on hold... and I'll have to give the zoo a ring.
  14. No need for willing 'helpers'. Has been raining now for 96+ hours. Have had only short bouts of high winds in same period.
  15. Forecast was for 200mm of rain over weekend. Great for paddling, not so good for driving.

    Saw tuning

My mother's got a mental animal. Wonder if there's the possibility of turning it into a calm loving moggy...
  17. It's a bit on the orange side. But would be distinctive and therefore, perhaps less nickable.
  18. Some saws as a minority but not all saws, may need a retune to run on Aspen, after being run in pump premix.
  19. What's the JASO rating of earwig blood anyway?
  20. Any way you could get the saw's serial #; and email Stihl.
  21. Not one of mine though I've done something similar in the past.
  22. I know ivy is good for bees but I still hate the devil's tendrils. Has done for three walls over the years. And rebuilding during all weathers is no fun.
  23. The dealer I've used the last few times has on all occasions, has had enough in stock. The other is hit or miss. Sometimes they have a few cans, sometimes they have none, sometimes they appear happy to be selling it and other times they're not interested. Eddie talked with them after I brought the situation to his attention. And indeed the next time I rang through they said they'd have enough and would keep the cans for me to collect. 2hrs. later I was at the store, only to be told by another member of staff, that they'd not had it in for weeks; and we're looking for a different supplier. I knew there was only one supplier but couldn't be bother by that time, to make the point. They a poster in the store, then promptly removed it when I asked if they'd be restocking.
  24. Hovercraft needed me thinks.
