  1. Finally got back at 3am then my mate turned up at 6.20 to pick me up for the Arb show....don't think I'll take much rocking to sleep later. Tucky
  2. Hey guys Just wanted to thank a top arbtalker and all round nice bloke for the truck he sold me yesterday. Was a bit of an epic journey up to his lovely part of the world but worth it as I now have my first Arbtruck (pictures will follow once I get Stevie's name off every panel). After a small 400 mile drive home I think it's actually got less squeaks than before. Tucky

    day rate

So if I'm reading this right your calling a WHOLE TREE CHIPPER hand feed? Sounds like we have a difference of scale here, our hand feed chippers will not fit a whole tree and by default a whole person. Tucky
  4. Unless its a very wet day it's normal in the right hand pocket of my c's. otter box case helps keep it safe. I am a bugger for not redoing my leg strap after checking it tho, leading to a few ' why is this harness so uncomfortable all of a sudden moments'
  5. The best advice I read on here was by mark bolan and it was basically that a good climber gets the whole team finished fastest. If small bits constantly flowing are the best way don't be afraid to do it. No one will thank you for a massive brash pile which takes hours to untangle. The fastest and best days for me are when the groundy is bang upto date, whatever I ask for comes up fast because of this and we all Finnish roughly as I land. The only other thing which I learned the hard way is picking a good anchor point to start with saves hours of struggles trying to work with a poor one. Tucky
  6. The words 'you want me to do WHAT?' Must have been used Tucky
  7. Hey guys Thanks for all the replies I've found a truck now, just need to find the time to pick it up. Will post pics when I do. Again thanks Tucky
  8. Hey guys Thanks for the various offers, waiting on a lead at the moment. Will report back.
  9. Hey guys I'm currently looking for my first truck. Ideally I'm thinking single cab transit but will consider all options. Obviously a chip box etc is a bonus as is storage etc. I will be trying eBay/gum tree etc but thought I'd ask here first incase anyone's got anything good (also I'd rather buy from a known source). My budget isn't massive around £2000. So can anyone help me out? Cheers all Tucky
  10. I'd have to add I have no concrete proof of this but stranger things have happened, and it's hardly something that would have been publicised
  11. The story goes there's a tanker full of agent orange at the old stavely chemicals site where it was made. Apparently one sprung a leak so was sealed in a bunded warehouse and left.
  12. Hey guys Been asked to put a quote together for a largeish conifer hedge removal (approx 26m long x 4m high x pretty thick). I would be taking the hedge down and snedding into clean chippable lengths, just want a per load price for chipping and carting away. This can quite easily be done at the end of someone's working day or booked in for the day once I've flattened the lot. Obviously no dates yet as its still at the quote stage. PM me to discuss further/swap numbers. Thanks all Tucky
  13. We do a lot of grave yard works for the local council and tbh by rigging carefully and often small we rarely have any issues. I certainly wouldn't advise moving them as the old stones are so brittle you'll break more than you save. Tucky
  14. Aspen also cures the 'being left idling to long' as you start imagining pounds burning and turn the saw off when it's not being used. Tucky
  15. Don't be silly the chute would block or at best the beans would slow the engine rev's so all the grounds ended up hitting the tailgate. Tucky
  16. The little Aga looked smart but the firebox is tiny so I personally discounted as I'm not a fan of cutting all my logs into matchsticks. My last two stoves have been Charnwood maybe slightly over his budget tho but not massively. Tucky
  17. Seriously mate try as many different harnesses as you can before parting with your cash. It's a very personal bit of kit what you love your mate might totally hate. You'll be wearing it for a lot of hours so it needs to fit how you like. Tucky
  18. Such a great image of you getting out the truck, quick warm up before dressing gown off to reveal boxing shorts and a harness. Tucky

    Mobile apps

Grid point gb and emergency lite. Both apps are free, one tells you the 6 figure grid reference for your location and the other every hospital nearby with phone numbers etc. Both of these are great when filling out risk assessments. Tucky
  20. Hi David Congrats on the new job, hope it goes well for you.A little tip for you, as new boy EVERYTHING is your fault, accept it smile sweetly and one day you won't be new and it will be someone else's fault. Tucky
  21. Give that man a coconut, that line retrieval spool on the right job looks genius. Tucky
  22. I had a member of the public stop as I was happily singing away, he looks up and says 'we your tree cuttings good but I don't rate your singing much'... I canceled my audition on the voice after that. Tucky
  23. Well just in case anyone's on the edge of their seat I'm finally home, only had to load the same slabs 3 times today.....defiantly beer o clock Tucky
  24. Now if she'd had her wits about her she'd have called no one and kept him 'on the clock' Tucky
  25. Hey guys Well I'm currently sat beside the A1 awaiting recovery after my trailer decided to become a uni model. One minute I'm cruising along the next I hear a bang and watch my trailer wheel go flying off. Luckily I managed to spark and grind my way into a layby. Oh well so much for a few hours work for some free patio slabs. Tucky
