  5. Hard luck the jocks, another thoroughly enjoyable game, hard fought. Well done the frogs
  6. Get on England, well done boys Hell of a match
  7. Had a very brief flurry this afternoon, a hail shower when I got in from work, and now its just cold, but I'm not caring, the logs are blazing, the stoves chucking out a good heat, which powers the rads, so the house is nice and warm
  8. I use a briquette sometimes in the morning, they light off the embers and act as a firelighter for the logs, 2 or 3 on the stove would soon get the heat up, but no way would I want to burn them full time, would be cheaper to have gas put back in.
  9. I had gas, ( heating and hot water) was paying a fortune, admittedly it was an old system, ripped it out and fitted a multi fuel boiler stove and cut my bill by a little under half the first year, and had a warmer house. Would have solid fuel again if I move from here and the place hasn't got it.
  10. Breezy down here at the moment and drizzle, flipping cold, (when we left work at 5pm it was 2c ) had thunder and hailstorm earlier, poor ol Boxer nearly had heart attack
  11. Came across this today thought it might be of interest to you guys ARB Compressor and Rear Air Locker And these are good viewing (and informative) Off-road skills Archives Isuzu Outdoor Life Isuzu Outdoor Life I'm also in a quandary at the moment, I'm looking at a pickup, can't make my mind up between a Rodeo or Navara ( 05/06 plate) Auto Won't be seriously offroaded, mainly work vehicle and taking the Mrs and dogs out Leaning towards the Navara as its more car like.
  12. Snap!!! Nice looking stores though, very good work, what does it hold, 1m3?? as has been said £320........?
  13. Another vote for the P7 ( got one for chrimbo:001_smile: ) :-D or there's this one about £7 or £8 3 Watt Pocket Focus Torch | Real Deals for You Got two of these before xmas, good light, not the same power as the P7 but not bad either
  14. Cold, got to +5 during the day, but was a good day It was 0 deg when we left at 4.15pm, just let the dog out and everything is covered in frost, suppossed to be -3 tonight
  15. What do you guys do to keep wood in all night? Got a multi fuel so just put a bucket of coal on, would like to know how to do it with wood though
  16. Went through about 4 1/2 m3 of logs plus coal last winter,
  17. I've had 2 bird tables/lanterns hung up since last winter, changed the food every couple of weeks because the birds haven't touched them. Got fat balls, suet tray, bird seed, peanuts, they worst bit is the birds sit in the trees at the back of the garden just feet away from the feeders. I've hung it off of poles, like a hangman's scaffold, now its under the eaves of the shed. Only thing we can put it down to is the neighbours cat that walks along the top of the fence. Will keep putting it out though, hopefully they will start using it, love seeing the birds in the garden

    Wood id

I know this is softwood, but which one. My ( uneducated) guess is WRC, purely based on the colour I have about a wheelbarrow full, which I'm going try on the stove, see if I like it and how it burns
  19. I did pull them out a bit more than the picture shows I'll take that on board, as a store empties I'll pull it out a couple of inches (not got that much room down the side)
  20. Sounds very much like it eggs It will now be heralded as win, unfortunately there's a lot of sheeple out there that will believe it

    Slang!

It used to be quite common years ago. I still use the odd bit now and again. That clip was done for the comedic value obviously Listen to Chas and Dave's song Rabbit. (Rabbit n Pork = talk) https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&ei=zclcVJOeA4XP7Qb38ICwBQ&url=http://www.youtube.com/watch%3Fv%3DwOSseI1hao8&ved=0CCAQ3ywwAA&usg=AFQjCNGK8IxoQGdWW27cXZQrMsyII_mLsQ Hopefully this comes out The language itself started back in the underworld/criminal class back in the 18th century I believe as a means of confusing the police. It was common in the Eastend/Cockney area of London

    Slang!

Jim, neither I'm actually a Man of Kent, but my accent is London, so much so that I confuse Londoners when they ask what part of "the smoke" I'm from, most of them put me south of the river, correct, but not far enough south, short by 75 miles My grandfather was a true Cockney though, but I never met him as he died before I was born, Dad reckoned I'm his reincarnation as dads accent was Kent

    Slang!

Stubbs you are correct in what you say " he's on the dog" = he's on the phone " giz a bell " = phone me, call me
