  1. Good first effort, stuck a like on there for you. Regards, Steve.
  2. Groundy or brash rat required for one day next week Mon 13th through Thurs 16th. Got an Ash to rig down so a groundy with PPE, having used a saw and held a rigging rope before would be advantageous, however someone to just drag brash, have two hands and a brain would do - pay accordingly. Either pm me through here or phone me on 07734 943570 - this is the first part of the intelligence test...! Should you pass this first part and do well on the day there is further work available. Regards, Steve.
  3. Just going by the plate in the third photo, Google has brought up a hedgecutter attachment so far. Regards, Steve.
  4. While working today the neighbour called out and asked if we had one of these, obviously other attachments available. Regards, Steve.
  5. What was the audio @ 3:37? Saddled with wife and two kids as you saw I barely saw the show let alone the arboretum so thanks for this APF will be a solo venture again this year.... Regards, Steve.
  6. Lovely job re-splicing my Tachyon, i'll feel much safer on it tomorrow! Great service - many thanks. Regards, Steve.
  7. Will be there late morning with wife 'n' kids. First call is Honey Brothers to get this Tachyon spliced then a wander. Is it still 1pm at the beer tent? Regards, Steve.
  8. Job went smoothly, Client very happy and everyone got paid. Nice to meet you guys and look forward to the next one. Regards, Steve.
  9. pm sent. Regards, Steve.
  10. Anyone doing an SRT workshop? Tempted to start exploring this. Regards, Steve.
  11. Tommy, Just re-read the thread and fully understand your questioning some-one splicing used rope. This particular rope is not that old and has probably only been used around 50 times, half of it rarely comes out of the bag. If it was well used I would just bin it, but on this occasion I feel it is worth repairing. Regards, Steve.
  12. Many thanks, i was thinking this may be the case. Will come and see you. The rope was bought from HB originally, I had a very good deal at the time. Can't justify binning a 45m rope for the sake of losing a metre or two. Regards, Steve.
  13. I'd had a fair bit more, just returning to the thread now...... Regards, Steve.
  14. More like you to jump all over the 'small hole to pass it through' surely? Regards, Steve.
  15. Evening all, Nicked my Tachyon a few feet from the end so if I can get it re-slaiced for a few quid i'll be happy. Obviously need to be Loler standard. Slaice not splice as I have a small hole to pass it through (Harke rings...) Regards, Steve.
  16. Not smelt this much fish since Codwood! Regards, Steve.
  17. Was doing Leatherhead to Wokingham to Andover to Cardiff and there were jam sandwiches everywhere - probably 'cause it was Friday before Bank Holiday... Regards, Steve.
  18. Thank God I was in the Iveco..... Regards, Steve.
  19. All good Mark, stopped them noticing the 60' x 20' steel frame and timbers for the new barn on my trailer..... Regards, Steve.
  20. So 'fess up people - who was having to dump their chip around 9am this morning at Leatherhead VOSA weighbridge? Just caught a glimpse as I joined the motorway, looked like a white tranny with some pale green writing on - could have said Green Leaves? Regards, Steve.
  21. Bit the bullet and as you'd guess - how did we do before? End of the day and no sore throat through screaming at groundy over chipper - not a raised voice all day despite being 70' in the air or 300 yards round the corner. Would like an extended mike boom or something so the unit can be mounted on the back of the helmet to save it getting knocked so much. Got to set a few bits up according to the manual but a must have for a lot of our jobs. Definitely saved 15 mins to 1/2 hour today so they won't take long to pay for themselves, just glad you can knock them off when the heavy breathing gets too much..... So impressed though it deserved a cheesy lunge.... Regards, Steve.
  22. Loss of a valuable asset to Greenmech. Mac, all the best to you and thanks for your help in the past. Regards, Steve.
  23. By pulling it from the bar I assume, did you also check it was running freely? ie. pulling it around the bar? Reason I ask is today I fitted a brand new 20" Sugi light pro bar to the 372 and the chain didn't like it. The bar is a Stihl mount so .063 gauge and the chain is 75LPX (so obviously .063 too). However the chain wouldn't sit in the groove properly and I couldn't pull it round. It was as if the drive links were too thick. As soon as the saw fired up the chain went a bit slack as it settled in so it was re-tensioned. I'm assuming it was just an edge left by the factory. Shouldn't be the chain as it's half way through a reel. Will see tomorrow whether it heats up. Regards, Steve.
  24. Assuming .404 .063 for the 088/MS880 then @48" the Stihl Duromatic is there - if you're after a sprocket nose and are prepared to sacrifice 2" then Sugihara do a .404 .063 sprocket nose @ 46" for £185 plus the dreaded which would be an excellent bar. GB do a 54" bar with a sprocket nose for £215 plus the dreaded - see RobD on here. Regards, Steve.
  25. Like a pack of rabid Jackapoos. Regards, Steve.
