  1. Good to see you again Paul, shame i got dragged away just as the man himself appeared.....hope the photo came out ok. Back home already and going through the brochures, i think Dean will be taking my money on that tracked grinder. Regards, Steve.
  2. Will be wandering round the stump grinder merchants tomorrow before making another purchase - wife and kids in tow. See you all there. Regards, Steve.
  3. Just now Steve @ 22.30, third time in the past couple of days on IE11. EDIT - Just Googled the phone number on the pop up and the first result was this....... By Anonymous 7 hours ago This IS a SCAM. My pop up led me to call "Microsoft Support" on this number. Was on for about 45 mins as seemed technically astute. They took control of my PC to "fix" it - said Operating System needed reloading ($180) and my Norton AV was not compatible so they could load Microsoft one ($300). It all sounded so professional but I jjust had that nagging doubt so terminated the call. Rang the REAL Microsoft who said; not them, yes it is a scam, do NOT reconnect to the internet for at least 24 hrs. When I do reconnect I will look for anything suspicious. All passwords etc changed and on-line banking suspended so, HOPEFULLY, no damage done other than stress and waste of time. Reported it to the police just in case there is any subsequent loss. Funny how they're quoting figures in US Dollars on a UK phone number Regards, Steve.
  4. If we can knock out Tuesday's job in three days we'll go up Friday if not it'll be eating into family time Saturday as the kids get bored and I need to make a decision on a second grinder. Regards, Steve.
  5. Still happening, just had it again. This time it was much harder to get rid of with Ctrl Alt Delete - kept regenerating. Regards, Steve.
  6. If Codwood was the first pun thread, People Poo must be number 2. Now it's started we'll have to follow through or that's the end of scat. Regards, Steve.
  7. Wait for it....I fear a dark version of Codwood brewing Regards, Steve.
  8. Thanks Kev, i'll give them all a ring on Tuesday. Royce website looks good and they do a slow growing grass too. Regards, Steve.
  9. Evening all, Need to drop around half a truck of chip and some rings from a Thuja for my Dad and don't want to haul it 200 miles home after. Can anyone take it somewhere localish to Leatherhead. Tree is 24" DBH but previously topped to 16'. It will be in the next few weeks. Also looking for some decent topsoil and slow growing turf in the area. Thanks in advance. Regards, Steve.
  10. Nothing as yet Steve. Regards, Steve.
  11. Anyone else still having this? Weekly now - just happened again. Regards, Steve.
  12. Had it again today (IE 11). Regards, Steve.
  13. Here too, funny how we all got this today.... Regards, Steve.
  14. Been meaning to post this for a while, didn't realise there was a thread already. Have had this half a dozen times in the past few months - only ever from Arbtalk even with other tabs open. I'm using IE 11. Regards, Steve.
  15. Just looked at their website but only the SC130 came up. Will give them a call tomorrow. Regards, Steve.
  16. Cheers Scott but looking for someone who hires machines out, will give him a call tomorrow anyway. Thanks for trying John, but if they did have the STX-38 up there (or even the Barretto) it would be on my ####### trailer now for tomorrow Regards, Steve.
  17. Help good people of Arbtalk.... Got two days of grinding on two different sites tomorrow and Friday, was just about to go and pick up a hire machine which was booked a week in advance to get a phone call saying it's not coming back for another fortnight. Postponing the jobs is not an option. I need a 30-40hp tracked grinder, I might be able to limp through tomorrow with mine but must have a tracked one for Friday. So far the nearest is Carmarthen and it's only a Rayco 1635 wheeled, not even sure if it's definitely available. I haven't got bundles on the job to be able to sub it out. Job is Jct34 on the M4. Any pointers please? Regards, Steve.
  18. Saved by a smiley...... So I'm ok to tow 3.5T behind a 3.5T until I'm 70 years old with no regulation or checks, but I go 1kg over 750kg behind a 7.5T at the ripe old age of 45 and you need to be protected from any potential cataracts and heart attacks? Regards, Steve.
  19. Annoys me that when the computer system changed the licenses again in '97 that they automatically slapped the 107 restriction on our 7.5T rights. Regards, Steve.
  20. This is what really p!sses me off - I've held my class 1 for over 20 years, passed my car test over 25 years ago but if I don't pay the doctors and opticians to renew my class 1 next year and every five thereafter I can't tow my 1700kg chipper or 3.5T trailer behind a 7.5T :cursing: Regards, Steve.
  21. Ouch.....that's way over the top Regards, Steve.
  22. Dean, Many thanks for your input, I was under the impression that the Bandit was 27hp (Arblease specs). I think the JoBeau would benefit from a decent promo video as, in the one I've seen, the machine doesn't seem to have the power and aggression of the Bandit. Will you have the new one up at the AA show in May? Regards, Steve.
  23. Currently thinking about one of these two machines, has anyone had a head to head demo? The hydraulic sweep looks like a winner on the JoBeau, however, how much engine power would this be sapping? Bearing in mind it starts 3hp behind the Bandit, I can't see it matching the work rate. As I see it, the Bandit grinds deeper, is more powerful and is well proven, whilst the JoBeau has the hydraulic sweep and is around a grand cheaper. There is another question of whether to keep the Rock Machinery filling rattler and just get a bigger second hand grinder, but for the purpose of this thread l want to concentrate on the two machines above. Thanks in advance. Regards, Steve.
  24. What weight is the 1928? Probably looking at £240/£260 +VAT from here - Braked torsion trailer axles with Knott brakes from 500-1800 kg. capacity - Trailertek Looking at replacing both axles on the TP and came across these - https://www.westerntowing.co.uk/acatalog/Al-ko-Braked-Double-Axle-23590998.html Regards, Steve.
  25. Took out nearly a hundred dead ones for him on one road in March last year, a nice addition to the log pile - should have milled some really. Some of that milled Beech was left there for the carpenter (my Father-in-Law) to make a commemorative bench from. Regards, Steve.
