  1. Distance depending I guess. Between 3 and 350 I reckon.
  2. Good points rich. I know a few good blokes that I can call on and perhaps some of the larger companies in the area may be interested in using bona fide sub contractors, particularly as the season progresses and the workloads start to grow
  3. I have marketed myself as a freelance climber, been busy since taking the plunge 18 months ago. Already have the truck (bought very recently) and my own work is trickling in. Can I justify the chipper at the moment?...not sure
  4. Ha! Fair comment. Just thinking perhaps someone may want to send out a second team without having the means to do so
  5. Just wondering if there was a market for an experienced climber, truck and chipper in the glos, worcs and warwks areas. Also, what would people expect to pay for the above? Looking at getting my own work but subbing out whilst getting started. Have regular work just doing the contract climbing but is a van and chipper more of a draw? Truck not sign written. Cheers Dan
  6. Cheers fellas. Maybe I should get over my steinophobia and look into them. It's just all the stein stuff I've had in the past, while cheap, has the breaking strain of a kit Kat and disintegrates super quick.
  7. So you use them for climbing?
  8. Always apprehensive about stein stuff to be honest.
  9. I'm in need of a new pair of trousers, I much prefer to work in type a's and fancy a change from pfanners as they don't seem to last that long on me....I seem to be quite hard on ppe!! Had a look through old threads and the sip innovation 2 trousers seem to be quite popular, but has anyone tried the sip arborists? There's not a shop near me to try any on so it'll have to be an online jobby. Cheers Dan
  10. Thanks mate. Do they need replacing like a belt or are they are they good for the life of the truck?
  11. Does anyone know if the old shape (03) cabstar have a can belt or chain? I've had a look on tinters and can't seem to find the answer on Google.
  12. One for sale on treebay now. Get one, it makes the world of difference especially with a sj. I seem to remember you climb on a sj?
  13. Hi guys, was just wondering whether anyone out there had a cabstar or 3.5t Isuzu for sale. Must be a tipper and ideally with a tow bar. Mwb or lwb and ideally under 100k mileage if poss. Doesn't have to have a chip box as I can sort one out. I've had a look at a couple but just want to see what's out there. Cheers Dan
  14. He's still got the skills and drills then hey?!!
  15. Yeah i used them. I just did a google search and rang around a load of places getting prices etc. I just kinda felt at ease with them and they had decent reviews. Did they design your logo as well? I like your colour scheme bud. They did some of my content initially, but didnt really understand the whole tree thing i dont think, so im tweaking it all slowly.
  16. I've no idea what my earlier post is all about...apologies. Ive recently had a website built and am in the process of doing the content in the hope of moving up the search engine rankings. Its slow going, as finding the time to devote to it is difficult, unless i take the day off. Its getting there though. Great posts from mike H as well, nice one. See what you guys think of it. Constructive criticism and tips welcome. Home | Vale Tree Care in Evesham | Tree surgery in Evesham
  17. Hahaha. You could just sit in your car and flash your lights a bit
  18. I've had my rope guide for about 2.5/3 years now. I tried the double snapper route for a while but I found the plastic tube thing constantly got stuck in forks. I just pull it out and let it free fall, nine times out of ten it will get caught up on branches on the way down. You soon get the hang of catching it before it hits the deck, the cocoon is a solid piece of kit that can take some punishment.
  19. Yeah all good. How long you there for?
  20. Bit of a bump. My regulars have gone a bit quiet so I was wondering if anyone else needed a hand in the next couple of weeks? Cheers Dan 07975 795741
