  1. Not sure about the speed limit for tractors- I thought if you had correct brakes it was ok to go 40k or 50k?
  2. Is the other bobcat being used to protect a building. It looks like a roof under the bucket.
  3. A phyiso should be able to give you exercises to work the tendions around the elbow. It hurts like hell to start with, but relieves the tension pretty quickly.
  4. I was struggling to get the chokers on and tight on the slots. But havin thought about it, I think I was trying to get the logs too high off the ground. Then having to use the winch to take the strain. Lift arms will lift higher enough I am sure. ( been a while since used a skidder)
  5. Thank for the advice. Been trying to work out a method of attaching the skidding chains to a log after winching the log/ bunch to the blade. Everyday's a school day.
  6. Getting used to the winch now. Thanks to who ever suggested getting pulley, re directs make it soo much more versatile. One question- on the cable there is a round metal coin thingy- should the sliders be hook side or winch( drum) side of this coin. (Is it to protect hook or the infeed part?) Or should i have two?
  7. maybe, but i think that activates assisted unwind. more playing needed.
  8. With two ppl, its ok. But if you ever had to pull the cable out solo.. it would be a pain and near impossible. Shames there's not a freewheel option (there might be, but i haven't worked it out). With the remote- it means one person can be on the cable, and the other setting up pulleys, chokers, sat on the phone, havin a smoke....... Remote is fitted now, and seems to work fine (haven't used it in the woods yet) One tiny negative- its it seem like you have to turn the remote control off- which i think will be easy to forget after a day's work. (again it might turn off after a period of time, but i haven't noticed yet.)
  9. Happy with the purchase so far. Remote still needs to be fitted, Thanks for help and advice.
  10. I am very happy with my tp230
  11. Ahh cordwood......
  12. I had a play station disc that was scratched and the game wouldn't work, so out of desperation I rubbed it on a rough carpet (a lot), the result was a dics that was covered in scratches, but a game that worked.....
  13. thats what i thought.
  14. So i think i've got this right- For a solo operator, running out 70m of cable (from a 100m roll)on a power assisted feed out system, electric hydraulic, without remote control- by the time they've returned to the tractor unit, to switch off the power assisted feed out, theres a high chance of a further length of cable dumped on the ground at the foot of the winch? (is this likely to be a ball ache, causing the cable to kink/knot/ not feed bac in well.) Plus the operator then has to return to the timber to attached chokers, then bac to the winch, to winch the stuff in. I totallly understand that remote controls make life easier- but i am trying to work out if power assisted feed out is worth while to me. Maybe i should be thinking of not getting the feed out- but getting a remote control?
  15. I am looking to purchase a forestry winch- a electro-hydraulic version- with the controls attached with a few meters of wire. The option of hydraulic assisted feed out appeals to me. How does it work? Is it a two person job- one to walk off with the cable and one to control the feed out. Or is it pressure related- so if you pull on the cable- it spools out, and stops spooling once the pressure is off. i am assuming you don't flick it on- and run off with the cable and when you reach your required distance, run back to the controls to stop it spooling out- resulting a in a mess of cable at the foot of the machine.(one person) Do you need remote controls to use the hydraulic feed out on your own? Thanks Rob
  16. Its to be hired out to my agri contractor- i also sub for him, so i know the guys that will be using it and am happy for them to use it. I also borrow his stuff, and like to think should a break happen we could sort it out between us.
  17. Hi, Just wondering what people think i should hire out a TP230 for. (9inch pto chipper) Just the chipper ,not the tractor, day rate. I thought £100/day, but this might seem a bit high. Any thoughts? rob
  18. I thought the major part of Scottish independence was the Scottish ppl saying they didn't want to have policy's that are made by Middle England mps who live in London, and aren't particularly concerned with Scottish I can kinda understand that. The pound is run from London, and is probably mainly staffed by ppl who live in London who aren't concerned with Scottish issues. (I also live in the south and I am also not too concerned with Scottish issues so excuse my ignorance)
  19. My old hilux was nicked the other. (Farm vehicle, sorn and unfit for roads), it was found a few hours later with everything still in it. It's been taken for finger prints. All the tools, combo can etc still in it. I am wondering if some part has been taken?
  20. I am not sure how long the present guy has been in charge of the environment agency, but the lack of maintence and stuff in sommerset has be occuring over the last decade and a half (at least) I think its a bit hash to blame the top guy for this- its not all his fault.
  21. Could you txt contracts to another phone, then txt them bac to new phone, A lot of work but might result in fewer wrong numbers Also free txts helps
  22. I would love a copy of his method statement.....
  23. The beauty of a free market.....
