  1. Typical of these, pump is worn. About £25 for a new stihl one or £8 for a cheap wear out in 2 months copy.
  2. Wont the original clean up? or has it gone completely? If your handy with a bit of acid and emery cloth ive a shelf full of 260 / 026 cylinders that just need a bit of work.
  3. Make sure you put in the crank case gasket before tightening the bolts down and standing back, looking at it and thinking im quite proud of myself, it was easier that i thought it would be. Then realise.
  4. On the outskirts of a village called Brough in east Yorkshire.
  5. The only other access to the land is down her drive way and through the back garden. When the estate was built 5 years ago her land was out of planning lines or something or other so she was never approached to sell, but 2 years ago a village plan was released showing possible development sites for new housing and her field was one of them. Expert advice is obviously the main lead in this thread so when i see her in the week i will tell her, dont know how long it will take for an offer to arrive but i will keep posted. Thanks.
  6. A relative has been approached by a well known developer interested in buying a piece of land from her, the field is just under 1 acre. This developer has built a housing estate upto her boundary 5 years ago and left a blocked off road from the estate leading into her field should she sell at some point. Area for area we thinks they will get 7 £275000 houses on it like what he has already built or 12 £200000 houses that are also on the estate. She has said to them she will listen to what ever they have to say and will think about it when an offer arrives. As only this builder will be submitting an offer she will have no idea if its good or bad. Does anyone have and idea???
  7. not on my bench but may be pending a winning bid. stihl km130r combi tool | eBay The bit about not being able to buy individual parts did make me chuckle, this guy certainly has one hell of a salesman working at his dealer, Fair enough the cost of parts would be more than a new machine. I wonder if this dealer is Stihls top salesman in the country
  8. lot of saws from the same seller gone on ebay this afternoon on 1 day sales from around that area.
  9. Muratic acid other wise known as Hydrochloric acid is the stuff i use, much better than anything else ive tried.
  10. Whenever i see videos of machinery im always reminded of this. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Q-cMHK-JA4]Bobcat Loads Itself Onto Truck - YouTube[/ame]
  11. Belle wacker plate with a honda gx100 engine, Guy says its leaking oil from were the governor arm connects to the bottom of the engine, there is oil on the plate but dosn't look like its coming from there so we steam cleaned it and waited for some oil to leak out. Nothing. Unscrewed the oil filler cap and a black petrol / oil mix flowed out all over the clean machine and all over the bench. Obviously petrol is getting into the oil. The fuel tank is bone dry so suspect carb issues. Will pop the carb off and give it a once over, oil and fuel and see what happens.
  12. I shall be there for a quick look round then make my way to the chainsaw trailer and watch all the loonies buy clapped out junk for top dollar then in the evening log on to ebay and see it all listed and making profits and curse that i was not one of the loonies.
  13. York sales. Glad you reminded me. I reckon it will be a wet and windy affair there tomorrow.
  14. Leave negative feedback, he cant leave you any. And if he tries to slag you off in a positive feedback he will get banned and prevented from selling on ebay for 3 months.
  15. Would a trench wacker be better than a whacker plate??
  16. Round here (East Yorkshire) birds have just started pairing up so it wont be long before they are nesting, get started and finished asap.
  17. You should be fine with chainsaw trousers and a coat, even with the guard on dosnt mean you are so safe you can do it in shorts and a tee shirt.
  18. these fake mylasian huskys have made it here Husqvarna 365 petrol Chainsaw 65CC 3.4KW 20" Guide Bar | eBay
  19. Very good advice, a work collegue owed natwest 25k he went to the CAB they sorted him a plan out and approached the bank with it, they settled for a pound a month until its repaid. 5k is nothing to worry about or think of going bankrupt over.
  20. One of my customers runs a 1999 Husky 371, hes had is since new and gets about 15 / 20 hours a week use. Only ever had filters and plugs changed at service. His 2005 Stihl MS260 on the other hand is a bit like Triggers brush.
  21. IMO very dangerous, get one ot these for your brushcutter. They are fantastic for brambles MULCHING BRUSHCUTTER BLADE 300Mm 25.4Mm (Special Offer) - Strimmer/Brushcutter Accessories Online Oregon Brushcutter Blades Buy UK

  23. http://www.worldoftrainz.com/Downloads/Files/Stihl/024-026%20Service%20Manual.pdf Page 10 shows the spring with the rubber tube.
  24. There should be a plastic tube that goes over the spring, this tube presses up against the cover so the spring cant fall off the rear pin as there is no room for movement once the cover is in place, the spring still moves inside the tube allowing the brake to snap on and off. I always apply a little grease to the spring under the plastic tube.
