  1. Mission accomplished, after an aweful lot of swearing! Undid that clip with a carb screwdriver Right, there are 3 sprung cylinder bearings per clip-ring, the first clips into the pump, remove that, the bearings and TINY springs! Then remove a washer, and the next ring to free the pump diaphragm rod, replace, then for the fun bit... To replace each ring, you have to force the bearings into the springs and shove the ring back on, whilst locating it in the slot for the ring, simultaneously... Sounds easy eh? Try doing it for both! Oh and if you don't keep the pressure on the bearings, the spring shoots out, which move like a flea on speed, anyway, all back together now, I'll run it tomorrow, because if it doesn't work tonight, I'll 'fix' it with a lump hammer. 2. It's a golf course, any branches, leaves etc need clearing up, let alone a bloody tree that sheds it's bark! Not happy with one, they planted 3, luckily the harsh winters dealt with one a few years ago!, both are +20" dbh, so it's a lot of bark. I also forgot to mention the cedar of Lebanon and deodar, both are fairly small, once again only 20" ish dbh Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  3. As I feared, petrol has eaten the oil pump gasket on my 090! And I'm defeated by this little clip, until I go to work tomorrow! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  4. 2 big red or blue gums, personally I'd love to stick the 385xp in them Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  5. No torque data for an 090, rich, just 12hp advertised power rating Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  6. I wouldn't say it's a hijack, I've provided pics for ID of 3 'common' 'sequoia' species Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

  15. Willow won't make much difference in that effect, it's generally a wetter area preferring tree, so the soil is pretty moist anyway, and it isn't one of the trees that suck up all the ground water Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  16. Similar to false chanterelles, but far too big, maybe some sort of funnel cap Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  17. If you're in stafford it might be worth pitching aspen's green credentials to staffs wildlife trust, and other conservation charities round here Might pop up and see you being as it's just up the road Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  18. That's kW, the other figures were bhp, but personally I find the power figures useless, modern stihl power ratings are at 10k rpm, husky pro saws at 9.6k rpm and husky home owner saws at 9k rpm, so is a slower engine giving more power? My 560 has never been that low when cutting at full GBL, I would be very interested in how they come up with the power ratings, on a car you have a curve, but a saw, you just have one number at mid-high revs? 19. A 3120/880 will have better AV than your 076! I've always found the husky parts easier, as I can call my dealer with a part number that I've already looked up, with the stihl I have to go to the dealer to search mediacat before I can order. Finally, what ever you buy, you run the risk of a Friday saw, both manufacturers have their problems, so it's a risk reguardless. I'm sure, like the 660, the 390 will be replaced sooner rather than later. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  20. You're talking about running a normal 2-stroke against a strato engine here, also as husky own the rights to the stihl engine and carb, the power will be down in comparison, husky parts are easier to obtain, you can get all the manuals online, the husky is almost 15 years old in design now, so I think the choice is simple! And the 661 is untried yet Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  21. No, as running the engine whilst the weather is warmer will show any faults before the machine is stored, and a mower should be cleaned after every use anyway Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  22. Because it's ready for the next growing season, Tbf the grass has slowed right down now, so after a few more cuts, it should be left to grow over winter without being cut Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  23. Ah, but if not with duct tape, my make or break is an entire bag of nails, if that doesn't work, you can weld it together after Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  24. Yes, I'm fully aware of that, I'd typed out the comment, hit send and then thought about how I had worded it, so it didn't appear as the joke I'd intended Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  25. Looks nice sanglier, lawn looks like it needs watering though, pay a Frenchman to water it, they like standing round not doing much. I will openly admit I am one to chuck fuel on the fire, but, we don't need to badger newcomers about PPE and all the other crap that comes with the trade! If someone wants a chainsaw for chopping logs under 12" dia. we don't need to skip straight to large pro saws either! In the case of the PPE thread, what I said WAS out of line, but people shouldn't start on the offensive, a simple comment pointing out the comment is out of order will suffice, not the usual 'you're an ass, you should be shot, if I did what you did, I'd have been beaten by my boss, my family would abandon me, etc.' because this immediately provokes the slagging matches, such as the PPE, running from a chipper, the vacuum cleaner delivered to the wrong house threads (those are the ones I remember off the top of my head).
