  1. Yes, they can be modded like any saw Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  2. Brashing down with a 550? I don't see why not, I do with my 560. And try f r jones on here for a decent price Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  3. I know really, he's obviously one of those crap dealers that nobody uses because he's expensive and knows jack about the machines, hence the support of the policy Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  4. 2 saws for your garden? Didn't think anything was that big! Or did you use the wrong aspen? Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  5. Forgot the 357, which needs even more outlets Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  6. Haven't posted for a while 385xp is now ported, muffler done, new carb and modded to run a 36" stihl bar Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  7. Hyway don't put a name on, generally OEM cylinders tend to be a darker grey, whereas AM cylinders are either lighter, or blackish Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  8. That's using aspen Barrie, I have stated before, I believe aspen runs cooler than normal petrol due to less volatile hydrocarbons in the mix Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  9. The 357 has an extra 500 rpm as stock though, so whilst the 560 has .3kw more power for an extra 4cc, it's still slower! You put the hyway big bore kit on and that difference would narrow down considerably, the only difference then is the transfer shape. Porting either the standard or big bore cylinder for 20% gains would put both over the power rating of a 560, and you have more rpm! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  10. I'll try and get a video tomorrow Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  11. All 3 are available at a good stihl dealer... Or off the internet, such as l&s engineering. I do believe I actually have a spare sprocket bearing though. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  12. Porting is definitely worth it! Though to run a bigger bar, I've found you usually need a bigger carb Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  13. Yes, very port-able, they can be made to outcut a 560xp Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  14. Such as? Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

    Dilemma.

Tbf most will recommend either a 560xp or a 365 (both are husky). The 365 is a fair bit cheaper than the 372xp (72cc) and needs minimal modification to become the latter. Both are pretty powerful, the 560 will pull 20" with no sweat, and the 365 will pull larger once modified Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  16. 2 years for husky, also the carb has limiters fitted, so pop a new plug in, cut for about 5 mins and check the colour, it should need no more than 1/8 of a turn either way Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  17. +1 for elm, it's amazing how common it actually is! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  18. What's the difference in the 2 pacman screws? Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  19. They're £10 online, I'm sure you can manage that! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  20. It contains a lot of nasty, volatile hydrocarbons that pit the cylinder and piston heads, lowering compression, so you don't get the initial firing of the engine without it after increased exposure Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  21. Yes, but use a drill first Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  22. Diamond burrs for steel, or grinding stones Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  23. It's an 08seq, the main thing to note is that it has a chainbrake, rather than just a hand guard, which means it's post 1979, by which point stihl had swapped over to the electronic ignition and super cylinder (56cc), but had yet to offer AV on most models. Both saws can be dated quite easily, the 070 will have a date-stamp on the muffler, as does the 08s I think. There is no accurate way to tell with the 070 accurately though, as they tended to leave the factory with whichever parts were to hand during assembly. The really early ones had contra cases, but the later ones could all accept the 090 cylinder Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  24. 6 stands for the 3/8 picco chain, the 3 denotes the safety links, the picco super is just stamped 6 (the normal, non bumpered chain) Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  25. 3-series huskies and stihls - local dealers New huskies and really old stihls - America Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
