  1. Nice, the year of manufacture can be found by the flywheel, behind the fuel tank. Is it a super or just a 076aveq? Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  2. Anywhere that does bars for the 70+cc huskies Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  3. Judging by the pics, it'll be a D033 mount, or what ever the other stihl mount is called (one for the 660) Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  4. If there is a split, the impulse is still there, weak but it's still there! As for the air leak, the mixture leans out, so the revs rise and the carb compensates by richening the mixture, hence the black plug! This continues until the limit on the carb is reached and the saw then seizes. The repair itself is straight forward, but the carb will need resetting as it will be very rich. Now before anyone asks why the plug wasn't white, if the OP has left the screen in, or the saw has been used a fair bit between the initial repair and the seize, there may be an exhaust blockage that resulted in a seize from a now over-rich mixture, but I have seen over-carboned plugs that have leaned out, and unless you look hard, it looks completely black Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  5. Really? You lot don't understand how an air leak on an AUTOTUNE saw caused an over-rich mixture before it seized? The air-hose in question is likely to be the impulse line, and the air leak will stem back to when the saw was repaired first Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  6. 394xp with a seize repaired today, quite a light seize tbf, loose muffler bolt caused it Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  7. It's not just the autotune that has changed the saws though, it's the whole cylinder, crank stuffers and strato engine that has been incorporated in the set up. To meet emissions the saw will be x-torq, but the rest of the design should put a 5120 on par with an 880, power and torque wise, but faster! And the 3120 is very dated now! 26+ years, with only a carb design change! Likewise the 394/5 design is almost as old, that's only had the transfers split into a double each side. 8. 540 is autotune, as will all saws be soon! Personally I think it's more of an attempt to stop people leaning the saw out, seizing it and trying to claim warranty Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  9. I don't recommend doing that spud, you won't get much gains from doing a thumb mod Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  10. Nice to see someone practicing their ninja skills, it's a hard job to fit a fuel line on that saw, as gardenkit says, cut a point on the fuel line, and use forceps to pull the pipe through the hole, cut square and draw the excess back into the carburettor area Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  11. Yes, that is why don't know how much postage is, very rarely have a day finish early enough to go to a post office, but I would imagine around £5 Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

    070 part

These saws were made in a way where two crank halves from separate saws could not go together, each casing is hand drilled and specific to the saw, on the other hand, the hole could be filled with chemical metal and shaped Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  13. The ignition timing is adjustable on points and the early electronic models Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  14. Your compression is really low mate! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  15. 394 seized, had the new piston to fit! Firstly, it's so damn tight in the air box that the carb is a nightmare to disconnect, second, how do I get the bloody muffler off? Finally, wtf were husky thinking with a 3/16 Allen?! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  16. I've had a similar problem, was leaking out the decompression valve area, plastered it in chemical metal to sort it. Failing that, is it running too lean and causing the carb limiter to flood the engine? Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  17. I have an exhaust going spare, as I've modded my 051 into something a bit bigger, unfortunately no cover Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  18. What parts do you need for the 051? Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

346, 353, 550, 545, if your lad can manage it, 357, 359, 560 or 555. IME stihl is overweight and nobody cuts on the torque band Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

  21. You're not rubbish at getting pictures, they're just usually upside down! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  22. Fitted a new type (non lined) 051 clutch today, stabbed myself with a screwdriver getting it together, impossible without 2 people, a vice, screwdriver, hammer and pliers! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  23. Make sure the L & H are one turn out, the carb is reassembled correctly, ht lead is through the right hole (if it's not, it can strain it and the spark will earth), check the engine timing, as this can be out if it's the earlier electronic ignition and also if it's points!
