  1. Surely going to bet hot for Cornwall then! Looks like Sorbus have a few arbortecs left aswell.. Ah bugger it, just gunna get another hard shell!
  2. Looks like all the Arbortec jackets have been snapped up so on the hunt for something different. Unless you are wearing guy cottons your not gunna stay dry, you'l get to the first limb and probably pass out wearing them. I'm all for a conventional hard shell jacket but the thing is it gets expensive wrecking them! Curious to know whether any one is wearing a single layer system whilst climbing such as paramo, bufallo or anything pile. For those that don't know basically you wear a shirt, it gets wet your body then warms the moisture up creating a micro climate. so you actually stay wet but warm if you see what I mean..

    Man they've got some gear!
  4. @Mark Wileman I thought the Selma fids could only do up to 13mm rope?
  5. Liking the xstatic by Teufelberger at the moment.. Deffo a single line rope though.. Yale Blaze is decent.
  6. Enjoyed watching that! At around 15mins when that last piece was going over it looked you were getting ready to unclip and ditch your saw!?
  7. Anyone know what the import dutys and procedures for sending over harness, trousers, boots n small hard wear? Thanks again
  8. Morning/evening all. I landed in Auckland just over a week ago and have some potential arb work lined up. Trouble is I rather stupidly didn't bring over any PPE from the UK, and didn't realise how expensive gear is over here in New Zealand. So would there happen to be any kind tree surgeons out here in this neck of the woods that could help me out with any size 8 boots, trousers and a lid? Feeling abit daft about not bringing PPE but I packed as light t as possible and over looked it. Couple of pints or cash in return I ain't worried,Any help would be sweet. Cheers, Josh
  9. Cool vid bro. Although the other guy cutting that piece and near smacking you in the head with the saw was not cool!
  10. Imo a vt seems the best knot for the hitchclimber. Use a distel on your sidestrop as it has little sit back.
  11. What ever it was he came a cropper
  12. It was hard to watch it back again but you had to to see what went wrong. Yup big ass talons!
  13. Did any one catch episode 7 of The Hunt and see the chap fall 30m? The conservationist was tagging the chick, whilst descending went into free fall and broke both his wrist's and leg! BBC iPlayer - The Hunt - 7. Living with Predators (Conservation) It's about 11mins in but I recomend watching the tigers first It's actually pretty scary to watch and was wondering if any one knew what went on with his gear, pretty sure it was a fig8 that he was coming down on.
  14. Hola a todas! Would anyone happen to have the ISA cert study guide or anything else that would help me through the exam I could buy off them? Cheers, Josh
  15. I actually find that the leg loops on the TM dig in to my inner thigh/groin area to much. Have played around with it but never found a way to stop this, prefer my TreeHog 5000!
  16. A day like today. Sun beaming down, perched way up above in a tree, letting off a deep sigh, you know everything is good!
  17. Hello, I'm trying to ascertain the difference between the Arborist and the ventilation trousers?
  18. Hi Ant and Allan, in the same boat as both of you guys. I'm also on the waiting list. It's a bit of shame they're still only letting in five thousand in a year. What other ways of getting into the country for two years work are there? Would be good to hear how your getting on. Cheers, Josh
  19. Great to hear Wille and the bandits, you seen them live?
  20. Great video and Editing. The colours look lush over there.
  21. recently bought 50m english braid alliance, great for knots.
  22. Likewise. Just a lot of surfing and roaming around. Didn't end up getting to Sumatra but definitely looking forward to being there at some point The Orangutan/Sawpod vests look good, do you know if they will be available over here? Keep up the good work.
  23. Have been interested to see how you guys were getting on out there. Really inspiring and well put together vid. Makes me want to be back in Indonesia.
  24. Not much different to what I'm starting out with then. Yeh I've been sieving through rigging comments only because I've got it all to come so I just wanna get some basic kit and start small. Ideally I would go out and get a small bollard but I cant stretch to that at mo so I'm looking for the best value smallish lowering device which is looking like the rc1000 which has been mentioned a few times. I like how you can tend slack as it has a top attachment. and I've found somewhere selling it for 115 Once again cheers for the helpful comments.
  25. Spot on cheers for that. One more question. With double braid can you still take wraps around the bottom of a tree instead of using a friction device as I understand that double b isn't suitable for natural crotch rigging.
