  3. Funny this snow stuff. It has never left my garden since November. It is well mental just now though. Access to Cairngorm ski center
  4. I've always got on best with a slasher when clearing brambles. Viscous evil devil of a plant when its been free to roll around and grow that wild. All chainsaw use is dangerous take care and mind your footing mate.
  5. That's fantastic to here thank you.
  6. I do not think Aspen fuel exists where I reside! (Aberdeenshire) I have asked a few tree cutters and grass maintenance crews what their thoughts on it are and so far the response is "Never heard of it mate, you sure you were nae on the sauce last night and dreaming again" I do not see a demand never mind the supply. I myself did not know of its existence until reading Arbtalk. I love the sound of the health benefits and possible extra mileage but I am very concerned about the cost of ownership! Given that the supply chain is not in place I will not waste any more time thinking about it Interesting to know about though. Many thanks.
  7. Yes always use a correct sized file and reduce the risk of chain snap. Badly filed gullets become a weak point a stress point on a chain. But the other thing is the side cutter! You have the chisel on the top and then the side cutter You need them both for a nice sharp chain. I know some folks like to use a bigger file to file the chisel only but even if you have hit a stone or metal and are removing damage you will not be giving the side cutter any love. This is what I was taught when I served my time as saw doctor at burnroot sawmill. I am not claiming it to be correct and the only way.
  8. Thanks for sharing that was a great watch, branch cam was very cool
  9. Thank you Tommy I think I want the new one then I found it handy as a foot hold as well as ascending. And thank you Jonesie Stainless steel cam *nods* it's a no-brainer now
  10. Hi, What have they changed on the Pantin? I am going to be getting one. Perhaps today but are the chances that I would get the old one? And is the price changing? cheers muckers! Blizzards just came on here
  11. Up your game and get fitter
  12. Hi Patrick, I grew up in Aboyne and I now live in Heughhead just over the hill from Logie Coldstone. We need to chat I will call you later on today. I only have cs 30,31,32,38,39 But for you it is experience as a climber I lack. I have groundie experience and think myself as one of the better groundies. That preempts the climber and assists. I want more rigging experience though! cheers Matt
  13. I think it looks like more hassle and fiddling about than just clogging. I am looking at it through commercial forestry eyes though. Bet this would be ideal for city folks with electric saws! And no I'm not being facetious I honestly mean it. Pointless thing for me though Good product looks well made. Bench height looks adjustable as well
  14. hahaha good luck with convincing the missus to let you sell it I think you are correct they are spear heads
  15. I saw trees not spear heads I love this nice one mate it is ace.
  16. Big trouble in little China. What a brilliant film thanks for reminding me of that Adam.
  17. Took your advice and watched that last night! So glad I did. Quite possibly the best documentary ever made! I reckon that movie could cure anyone's depression! Be interesting to find out if it was a "woman" related issue that spurred him off into that amazing life! What a skill set but so matter of fact and inspiring cause he had no ego blowing it all to hell. Everyone can do it kind of attitude! Thanks for putting that on here
  18. Hehe im having plenty fun and good exercise I will need to watch I do not land on the greenhouse
  19. Making a ramp in the garden for the kids and snowboards. It is not deep only about 12-14 inches and drifting to many feet. Very nice snow for sports!
  20. Hi Jon I gained more snow last night and schools closed again for 4th day now It is getting on for a repeat of 2010 this. I will get some photos up today now its got some decent cover and depth. But there is nothing happening here it is like a snow holocaust. Every one and every thin is hibernating. Feels surreal when I start my saw in the dead silence
  21. Cairngorm Ski Center are hard at work Any fellow snowboarding abtalkers fancy a slide?
  22. Ooooo Stephen you just gave me an idea.. recreational and corporate tree climbing "sorry for the derail"
  23. Chris I love the 90 in snow with some decent boots on like AT2or BFG AT it is like a go-kart and endless fun. My Toyota is fun but being long wheelbase not as playful. I got mine dug out now and re parked was easier digging than I was expecting.
  24. Hi there is open to Scottish residents as well ? I quite fancy Utility work. Got all the CS tickets but no UA ones.
  25. Derv - £1.49 (today) Unleaded - £?? less than above lol Last year diesel was way up at £1.59 - £1.6x I visit Aviemore a lot for friends and winter sports. I fell out with the petrol station on the main street.. Profiteering basterds... left home and filled up at £1.39 and same day in Aviemore they were £1.59. How the hell does anyone run a small business over there I want to move to Aviemore as well. But I lack confidence in there being any work.
