1. Hero3 Black edition is the current winner! But is the ugliest and hardest to mount. This is from a lot of review reading from others testing in snow sports and mountain biking. Everyone wants the Contour but with the 60fps 1080p that Hero3 Black edition offers. So most are sitting on the fence waiting for Contour to take their crown back. This is from the snowboarding community where these cameras came from I think.. Oh yeah battery life is something that the Hero is lacking versus the contour but the higher fps at 1080 is ultimately what is selling it. And for good reason to The drift was mentioned in all reviews and they all agreed it has sub par performance to hero and contour and there was mention of an offering to appear from Sony. Which IMO will be over priced lol Conclusion Hero 3 black edition Contour+2 DriftHd Hero2
2. Hmm a shoot out between the top 3 I think would be ace. I am interested in one of these for snowboarding. Contour seems to be the best featured and most flexible for mounts and seems to boast best camera image. GoPro has the marketing and advertising and similar tech to Contour Drift seems to be a combo of them both with less on the camera tech. Not looked at prices yet but so far I am leaning to the Contour and I think that is because as a photographer the long barrel appeals more than a square shape. arse lol something else to research to death ! Can arbtalk get all 3 of these in for testing?
3. Woke up to fresh 4 inches of pure fluffy dry cold powder snow January is looking sensible again. Incredibly fairytale looking outside with all the trees covered etc. Main thing is it is COLD AND DRY! And no winds
4. Check out Contour as well. They make amazing helmet cams with some very good helmet mount options. Cameras | Contour
5. Yeah I had a look through his portfolio *whistles* just incredible That is pure raw talent! Just mind blowing. In a wee niche of his own I think
6. Hey guys, So far I am very impressed and think these should be a standard item with stoves. Hope that pic works ok it is smaller than I expected.
7. Snow snow snow snow snow I feel like Calvin in a Calvin and Hobbes episode
8. like wow dude that is some rad shizzle there emmm I think I got that hahahah love it I meant to say in about that 67 year old cutter. I worked with him not still work with him as I am out of work just now. Last saw him summer last year and he was still tree cutting so that actually makes him 68 now. I reckon he will die on his saw but in a kind of warrior romantic way if that makes any sense! Btw he is just pure AWESOME!
9.
Nyie weel loon fitliken, affy grand to see mair on here <img src="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/biggrin.png" alt=":D" srcset="<fileStore.core_Emoticons>/emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

10. Very fast from ordering to arriving! Been running it for about an hour now and it does what it claims. I sat watching the Stirling engine pistons at the back with my head torch on. And making them cast cool shadows on the stone wall behind So if nothing else I am getting warmer simply from bear hugging the stove lol Noise is not an issue, my PC is louder! Quality made unit from high grade materials! Which I love! Is it worth the £170... time will tell because it even means I can order 1 less oil load then OMG yes. If it can push enough air to heat beyond this room then it will have surpassed my expectations. But these findings will take about a year to conclude No regrets!
11. you have bigbaws! Or you enjoy your work to much
12. I would love a 346 Used one in the past and yeah they are a peach of a saw! Got it all in one Good aerial saw ! Good ground saw etc just awesome bit of kit. Dinnae shoot me for this but I am not a fan of toppers. I think they cause poor work positioning and for me I get annoyed with my forearm blocking what I want to see.
13. Old at 49! Noooo your not even middle age yet lol Come on folks stay young I work with a 67 year old tree cutter and he out works the 22 year old. Graft for graft!
14. Never mind I couldn't wait for any replies. I have bought one now I will update this thread with how I get on with it!
15. That's spooky ! Seems like great minds thinking and all that I am looking at getting a stove fan, as you typed your reply I was making a new thread about them.
16. Good morning Arbtalkers Has anyone tried one of these Vulcan Stove Fans? I didnae ken they existed until I entered a cafe on Wednesday for soup and coffee. It was a fairly large open plan room with a wood burner supplying the warmth. It was on top of the wood burner that I spotted the fan and it just looked right and sensible in every way. As soon as I walked in to the cafe and felt the warmth I was sure the stove must be secondary to the main heating but nope it was just that and the fan on top. Thus I got to researching when I got home and this gorgeous bit of old school British engineering seems to be the best of the lot. If you have one I would be keen to here your thoughts on it before I commit to buy I would like to know if it can create enough air movement to move the hot air from the room and into the hallway. Even better if it can move the air up the stairs. I would like to know if it is any more noisy than a computer running or if the noise is quite pleasing in a soothing rhythmic way and not to interfering with film watching. Cheers folks Winter may return and I would love to be less reliant on the oil heating system. And I am total sucker for quality well thought out engineered products that benefit me.
17. my fav saw is my husky 262 it has never let me down and that builds a bond an ma silky as well they make a beautiful finish on the face of the cut wood.
18. Sorry I meant to reply with the types I use and see being used in my area. Type 2 Type 3 Type 10 Type 22 Type 23 Type 26 Type 27 Type 29 Hard to quantify though!
19. Yes I have always used these but as above mentioned I have a forestry background with Forestry Commission lol. Not to be to HSE but these can not be used enough IMO and it still amazes me how jo public sees them but will still enter the area being warned about
20. Make it so and do so fast I just read this and I am now furious !
21. ahh my bad, as in "we should all" for me was meaning all of us that are for one reason or another signing on. Sorry for the confusion mate!
22. I would find it hard to believe that an IT engineer or anyone with that income would need funding. I kind of find this argument a bit random and not on point. No what I mean is that all of us that are currently on the dole that are trying to get funding for tickets or tools to get back to work should be treated with the same fairness. As far as I know the dole will not help and should not help someone that is employed and on a healthy income. Where did you pull that from anyway? Do you think I am that IT engineer on 40k? I am not looking to start a fight with you I just wonder if there is some thing I missed as often is the case with txt communication. I perhaps should have avoided this thread I have been on the dole for 2 years now and really struggling with it.
23. My point is that if one can get we should all be able to get! Fairness and equality and all that! But this is not how it is!
24. Yup I here you mate. It took me about a year to self fund my 38/39 and now I am trying to get the funds together for a climbing kit lol so I can work at least as a groundy. Doing my first aid refresher v soon "which I think dole will pay for" I cant pimp myself as a groundy with out a climbing kit! I just cant do that. It is fundamentally wrong. If my climber had an accident I wont be able to rescue him/her. I am all for helping and encouraging and supporting others. But I too want helped and supported lol.
