  1. Well I tried to get them to pay for my 38/39 and they refused time and time again, so I think it might depend where you live. I even had job offers to back up the need for the tickets + I all ready have 5+ years experience and had 30-32 all ready. then I here of a guy getting all tickets paid for 30-39 + a voucher for climbing kit + ppe all from dole office. I then here this same story from other sources that are independent. as the queen would say "one is not amused" so I dunno wtf to make of it all.
  2. HAHAHAHAHAAH Beautiful I sometimes think like this when prepping broccoli and carrots Did you knock the head out as well
  3. Welcome James mate There are some good tutorials for photoshop for this effect quick and easy if I remember.
  4. I love this tree planting. Pine plugs and bare root broad leaves. Putting in about 2k trees per 10-12 hour day cause it was March/April with more light in the day 400k trees for the full site
  5. HAHAHAHAAHAH How long did it take you to work that out We are indeed for the best part totally raving bonkers. Chilli and Rasp sounds nice

Hi Spud, I have meant to update this a few days back. Saw is better but no way fit for use yet. I set the H&L as you advised and I can start the saw a lot easier now It revs up great as well and response to throttle is fantastic. But take your hand off throttle and the saw stops running instantly. Fuel use is improved as I held it flat out and revved it for about 3-4 mins to get the saw hot to see if it would idle better but nah just dies again. Stating it again hot is also much much easier but I did note I can only start it using the choke first (pull till it burbles which is the norm about 3-6 pulls) then off choke and a further 3-4 pulls and saw starts. Good sign I think. I have tried slightly changing the H&L in small increments and all I can tell is that it either reduces its top end rev speed or the idle is even more reduced and the saw cuts out. I would expect this Checking for the fast idle mechanism gives that small click sound so I am assuming that is ok. No yoyo starting however so many thanks mate I honestly appreciate all your time and help with this!
  7. Hiya James, thanks I do not think you are being cheeky The effect is a basic "Tilt Shift" I did not use an expensive tilt shift lens though. I took the photo with my phone and then applied that filter when I was faffing about with Instigram app and recognized that filter as a tilt shift style effect. I have been using the technique on other photos a good while before I had a smartphone, you can do it with photo editing software. But the basics are you want to gently blur out the top and bottom and keep the focus on the point of interest. When done well it makes for a surreal miniaturized model looking scene. I hope that sort of answers it for you I have not yet had my coffee And I have noticed most if not all of the tree planting photos have managed to escape the upload.
  8. Ah nice one Jay, Brian is a damned good lad! Ace fun with him He did my 39 as well. Pushed us way beyond what the assessment needed. Hope you get a date soon mate when the weather is good! I am on hold from work just now looking after my wife as she just had an operation to sort out some pretty mega problems. All sound and good now and she is all fixed and mending well so I am hoping to get back to some tree work soon. Or if it snows a heap I may go do another season snowboarding Got two new boards to have a right good session on
  9. I did my 38/39 course in November 2012 and was taught this way as well. I have been having the same thoughts circling in my head about this. Good thread

  11. Hiya folks I love photography and I love tree work It's a love affair These are a mix bag of photos I have taken over the last few years from tree work to the odd creative one. Mix of arb and tree planting. Now I have my CS38 & 39 I am looking forward to having my DSLR sent up to me when I am in the canopy for some "Canopy Art"
  12. I am not familiar with the new landscapes around. More fishing spots than ever. And it is every bit as warm as any summer day from this year. Very peculiar outside today. I am going to go down to my windblow site and extract and process some more wood

  15. I surrender. Even I do not want to go outside. Just been out doing the kids school run. It is the wrong side of hypothermia out there today. Noticed a tree down into a field, medium dead elm and shattered well It is not the end of world (my cat all ready mitigated that) but it is one hell of a bleak day.
