  7. Dont get hung up on chain speeds. Only try and match chain speed to trousers if employer requires it. Class 1s are cheaper to buy and much nicer to wear...especially when it gets warm. Heat exhaustion leading to fatigue is a greater risk than the difference in chain speed as you get sloppy and they do not replace good technique. IMO. Class 1s are all that has been available until only recently (approx 5 yrs) and do not offer guaranteed protection as so many factors affect it, ie age and condition...clean trousers are better than sweaty ones. Also where and at what angle the cut is. Spend your hard earned on the best fitting, lightest class 1s instead Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

  14. Yep...thats the new ones. I got the tech ones as i do a mix of forest and arb and preferred them. The standard leather ones are a few quid cheaper too if ur on a budget! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  15. The boots are generous... I have a pair . They will be the same size as ur wellies. They are nice but quite stiff. If you prefer more flex, try the standard leather ones (the new ones that is..the old ones look like something that would not look out of place in the munsters!) Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  16. Forgot to add, place a piece of cloth over the fitting when driving it with the mallet so as u dont get any crap in! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  17. When fred flintstone was a boy...i was a hydraulic fitter...screw in hydraulic fittings are very good provided that the hose is still sound. Just make sure you apply a film of oil to the male threaded insert....makes the job MUCH easier and stops the threads from galling. You will need a mallet to help drive the fitting in, dont use a hammer! You can use heat, it wont catch fire unless you are using acetylene and getting the fittings cherry red. The oil will be buggered of course but it will be limited to what is 'local' to the fittings which you will be lost into a bucket when you get the fittings separated. Just use as little as poss and make sure you have a at least a bucket of water to hand or a co2 extinguisher (they are nice and cold). Good luck. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

Whilst i dont agree with all her policies i totally respect her work ethic and the fact that she didnt pander to the spin - doctors.. there was no doubting that she was in charge and knew what she wanted. That lady was not for turning! Sympathy for her family after she has suffered a long illness. Love her or loathe her, she commands respect for her utter commitment and love of a great country. Daughter of a green grocer, became the most powerful woman in great britain. RIP Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
