    You can't forget Jez Avery
  2. I've used front protection for years whilst climbing. If it's written in to your risk assessment and there are reasonable reasons why not to use type c, I believe it's ok
  3. I'll have a look at work in the morning, sure I stripped one of them down. It's surprising how many old stock parts there seem to be in boxes

    A new chapter

First week been has been good. Just trying to get use to computers. I've got so many serial numbers running around my head. I've got a couple locked in my head, but thousands more to learn! Need to figure out how how many links various chains have for different saws and bar lengths, but I did make a chain up for the first time since college. Also been putting stuff together for orders taking deliveries, and getting new saws (and other stuff) checked and ready for customers. I've learnt so much already it's untrue. I've been serving customers, but I'm just waiting for one that needs climbing equipment then I can talk about something I don't need help with

Hope you liked your customer service this week
  6. Good to see you giving it a good go. Two separate anchors can be a blessing on some trees, but in some a hindrance. Glad I've managed to get a different job now with this legislation coming in. Will miss climbing and think I might need to take a leaf out of your book and get to the gym

Cheers Pete. I'll tell him, but it might take longer if he gives it to me to fix

Well that's it. I'm done. Been a good week, with a few decent trees and a fencing job. Going to miss it, but I reckon I've made the right decision.
  9. It's good to see you and your lad together. To be honest you both look in better shape than the first pic

Cheers. It's for my local dealer. Only a mile or so from home. I'll still be doing the odd job here and there on the weekends.

Cheers Steve. Definitely a good time. Knackered my body when I was young and foolish! Looking forward to it, they'll have someone who's actually used the stuff they sell. Hopefully I'll be sorting all the climbing equipment

Loads of things. I'm 37 so still very able to the job, but been fed up of feast or famine. Also got another kid on the way, so want something steady. It's my local dealer so already know the lads.
  13. After 20 years in the job, I'm changing my career. Instead of climbing and using saws, I'll be selling them and fixing them. Looking forward to it. Starting Monday, so will see how it goes
  14. Got a job coming up in Barrow near Whalley, just waiting on TO permission. It's white poplar might be able to sort something
  15. How have you got on. Have you managed to get out and climb on it yet? I know your waiting to do the tickets, but no harm in practicing
  16. 8mm Marlow viper for me. It's just what my local supplier had in. It's only a mile and a half from home and I drink with a couple of folks who work there. So quicker than mail order
  17. Can't complain. Feels good on the hands, running a hitch climber setup with vt
  18. I'd get the isc 70kn pulley. £32 + vat at honeys
  19. The pic of the 201 is great. Think it might take some beating
  20. Really annoys me people who don't drive due to drink/drugs. I can't drive because of my epilepsy, but still manage to get myself to work every morning
  21. Did some work there years ago. Some great trees to work on
  22. Looking good so far. Glad to see you've a good taste for fashion, got the same hoodie myself [emoji106]
  23. Have a great weekend Paul. Should be there myself, but the daughter has something on. It would be great to meet up again and you can meet the mrs. Remember I'm only a couple of miles from the pie eater, so two birds one stone
  24. Happy birthday pal
