  1. It's a bit damp
  2. My dad's a member of Raynet or was. He's had a full licence since before I was born. What they don't isn't worth knowing. Just like most folk on here
  3. Thanks for the info. I've started working for a shop and we keep being asked if rope can spliced when it's come from a reel. At the moment we can't, but say it can be sent away which most people don't bother with
  4. I'm looking for a course to do this professionally. I've done a few for my own use, but would like them to be certified as I keep getting asked in the shop to do it and have to say no
  5. Put them on in the shop and got straight to it with no problems
  6. Not had any problems with mine. They seem to have good grip in the tree aswell as the ground. I can't complain and on my 2nd pair
  7. Agreed. I've always used my local dealer. He is only a mile from home, but when they know you got it from them you can most often get it sorted whilst you wait. Only downside is you end up buying a load more stuff whilst waiting!
  8. Soft arse
  9. He's a goodan. He was telling about an episode with a bell tent that you brought to the arb show and it not being the driest of evenings, you should put tents up sober!
  10. Got it booked off work now. Not sure which days I'll be there yet. Pie Eater Pete came in the shop so asked him, he's tempted so might jump on with him. I might have to go down and represent the shop though and chat with important people

    A new chapter

Well all is good with the job. It's going really well. Enjoying being busy in January for the first time in years. I'm getting to talk about climbing equipment every day which stops me boring my mates down the pub. Just need to find a splicing course now, as I think their keen for me to do that

All I can say is, how much are you willing to spend. If you can get yourself down to a dealer and try some on. What fits one won't fit another
  13. No problem. I'll have an ask at work in the morning aswell to see if anyone else knows of one. If you look in the carving forum wisewood has plenty of pictures up
  14. Found it. Goes under Wisewood on here
  15. There's a bloke on here from Formby if I recall. Not sure of his name
  16. Just had one in the village. A good few Lombardi to take down. Didn't even ask the local firm( lives in the village 200 yards from the job) I worked with him till recently, and have done numerous work for the PC. After us they had someone else who's done all the work for the past 4 years and he didn't get it. He obviously wasn't versed with crane work.
  17. Looking good Paul. Nice start to the new year. Hope to catch up at some point
  18. Hope your well pal. Just did xmas with my parents. Rowan loved every minute of it of course, won't be long till she's a non believer. Give my best to your lad and the rest of the family. Nothing like a new start, I just did mine before new year
  19. Merry Christmas Wayne. Hope you've had a good one

    You can't forget Jez Avery
  21. I've used front protection for years whilst climbing. If it's written in to your risk assessment and there are reasonable reasons why not to use type c, I believe it's ok
  22. I'll have a look at work in the morning, sure I stripped one of them down. It's surprising how many old stock parts there seem to be in boxes

    A new chapter

First week been has been good. Just trying to get use to computers. I've got so many serial numbers running around my head. I've got a couple locked in my head, but thousands more to learn! Need to figure out how how many links various chains have for different saws and bar lengths, but I did make a chain up for the first time since college. Also been putting stuff together for orders taking deliveries, and getting new saws (and other stuff) checked and ready for customers. I've learnt so much already it's untrue. I've been serving customers, but I'm just waiting for one that needs climbing equipment then I can talk about something I don't need help with

Hope you liked your customer service this week
  25. Good to see you giving it a good go. Two separate anchors can be a blessing on some trees, but in some a hindrance. Glad I've managed to get a different job now with this legislation coming in. Will miss climbing and think I might need to take a leaf out of your book and get to the gym
