  1. Fitted a set of Maxxis AT-771 on SWB Shogun 4Work replacing BFG-ATs, nowhere near as aggressive and i doubt they will be as good off road but handle and drive well and have coped with everything so far. BFGs have just got stupid price, I was quoted £200+vat ea. The Maxxis were half the money, plus free puncture repair for life of tyres.
  2. You say that Mick, i had a close call a few years back... vacuumed out the burner with an old Henry (done many times). Put it back under the stairs cupboard. Bit later could smell burning, checked the vacuum and warm on outside. Took it outside and opened it up and it burst into flames! Fire was well cold but obviously a small ember had been revitalised by the air blowing through the cleaner and ignited the filter bag. Wooden stairs, I hate to think!!
  3. Anyone in a position to try this? Anyone got sub 20% wood?😂
  4. Running fr me but its starting to hurt and takes a day between to recover. Im of the opinion if I stop i'll never start again. Brought a Garmin Fenix watch, tells u ur steps, VO2 Max etc...certainly a motivator. Also as Khriss says, its all pointless if u dont watch the calories👍
  5. Cheers Dumper, that looks good stuff, will give that a go[emoji106]
  6. Cheers Kev I got me a drum for cleaning all me cider making kit down. Does it need to be neaters to work on moss?
  7. Cheers Toad, its actually not too bad, it dries off pretty good and im in Cornwall so doesn't get too cold that often. I Like the micro asphalt advice. I don't wanna spend a fortune on the drive though, is it a pricy job?
  8. Cheers Bob, appreciate the advice. Its the main approach into the property so I want it looking good. I'll get on it with the press washer and cold patch the holes. Have u any idea what top dressing is likely to cost? 100m x 3m?
  9. Cheers Eggs, any idea on costs, overlay vs tar and chippings? Craig
  10. Heres photos of damage
  11. Just a follow-on from my original post. I have about 100m x 3m of tarmac drive that is starting to show some damage/wear/small potholes, I want to get it sorted asap to prevent further degrading. What are the options to repair? Can I get a thin top coat of asphalt applied or fill potholes and top dress with tar and chipping? And any ideas on price to do either? I'll UL some pics later Thx in advance
  12. My brother in law took some great pics of similar Ice hair last week. He’s near Inverness.
  13. I find them a comfortable boot though they took some breaking in, particularly at the heel. They come up a little large, and they ain’t the lightest boot but they are certainly comfortable, waterproof and give great ankle support. TBH I’m not one for buying footwear by mail order...been caught out too much! The guy in R&T said comparing them with the Yukon’s was like night and day.
  14. I went to Radmore and Tucker to buy a pair of Yukon’s and came away with a pair of Treehog Extreme. Not a lot more money but felt like a better boot/fit Treehog Extreme Waterproof Chainsaw Boots Class 2 WWW.RADMORETUCKER.CO.UK
  15. I have a grenadier stove heater which I had to use regularly in our last house. Great bit of kit
  16. Any reviews on the Makita DUC305Z? Looking at a 12” battery option ([emoji15]) and already running Makita tools. VMT Craig
  17. Had PF for 12 months. I have found I have to do calf stretches otherwise it flares up again. Also rolling a frozen bottle of water under foot. It’s a debilitating bitch of an issue!
  18. It’s in The Guardian ffs....the only thing that rag is good for is lighting your stove[emoji106]
  19. Another thumbs up for Woodwarm[emoji106]
  20. Get a Woodwarm[emoji6]
  21. Yep that's also an issue in this case? I guess as long as the track has enough camber to shed the water and there is scope for to to soak away into surrounding fields (already wet ground!). The existing track doesn't hold water but it just doesn't run off that quickly hence the filled potholes just get washed out.
  22. I get your point Les but as Kev alluded to, the days of getting them cheap are long gone, also availability in the SW is difficult, with many of the aggregate suppliers buying it up by the job lot. But its certainly worth thinking about as an option?
  23. Thx for this, so given the base is good solid stone i could reduce to 15mm i guess?
  24. They would rise again....They're from Par?!
