  1. Awesome capability! If only there was enough of that sort of accessible work to warrant the investment in the kit.... Maybe one day....
  2. Where the original post / article states “unknowingly”, and where para 1 states “intentionally,” maybe that’s the cause of the reticence on the part of Plod? Im sticking with my Chief Constable / Freemason / shooting party member assessment though....
  3. Marxist fundamental principles corrupted by exploitation of the gullible masses, individual and organisational dishonesty, corruption and personal greed, Who could ever have seen that coming 😂 it’s not as if every single historic example socialist/communist/Marxist doctrine has taken exactly the same path 😂😂😂 https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.bristolpost.co.uk/news/bristol-news/police-probe-missing-bristol-black-5768567.amp
  4. Just leave it in a pile and let nature do it’s work.... Thats the ‘best’ way....
  5. I think, from memory, Ghengis Khan did - albeit not what we currently call Afghanistan which is a kind of ‘made up’ country anyway. There was a chap on LBC a day or so ago that claimed the Sikhs conquered it also but I didn’t catch his background detail. Reporting today seems to indicate that Trump signed a ‘hand over’ deal with Taliban and this is the conclusion of that deal. There have been a lot of ‘military types’ providing outraged commentary on various outlets today. I can appreciate that - people made sacrifices, some made the ultimate sacrifice, many made great personal sacrifice. That’s what the military do. But that emotion clouds the judgement. There is no way for Western military intervention to ever succeed in that region. That’s a hard reality that ‘we’ need to suck up and get a grip of. Once you grip that, and set personal emotion aside, it opens up a different way of thinking about what really has to happen. It is a widely accepted definition of insanity to keep doing the same thing and expect a different result. ‘We’ need to be out of Afghanistan. Now we are. It’s a bitter pill but that is Trump operating at a higher level than many can appreciate.
  6. Worth a look at this maybe: Black Splitter SG1 WWW.BLACKSPLITTER.DE delivery without excavator bracket and hydraulic hoses for excavators 1,5 t to 6 t, optional to 8 t weight 166 - 178 kg cone...
  7. It’s a can of worms 😂 which the Upper Tier Appeal Judge refused to open - much to my very evident and obvious (just short of contempt) displeasure.... Id been allowed to do ‘em over just enough to prove a point but was prevented from delivering the Coup de gras that I had my sights set on. Wouldn’t do for the “little man” to be seen to have tucked up HMRC would it 👊🏻 It might catch on.....
  8. It wasn’t so much a problem as it was the solution (successful defence) against HMRC. I see the points being presented above but not sure a difference in process cost between 2 businesses could result in the more efficient business being charged with failing to bring a non monetary benefit to book where that benefit only arises in comparison to a less efficient business process. As much as I despise state interference, not even HMRC Nazis could pull that off....
  9. I made the mistake of talking to one of their sales creeps at a trade show several years ago. Arranged for an after meet and he came to the house. He laid on all the patter about how membership was ‘essential’ for any small business. I asked him what he knew about ‘this’ business and how many small Arb businesses were subscribed. He had no idea. In fact, I don’t think he had much idea about any small business. He was just a salesman slogging his ass off trying to hit target. Lost all respect for him and FSB at that point. Several years after, I was on a job locally. I saw him stop his car and take a sneaky pic of my sign written vehicle. Dirty little sneak was still trying to grab leads. On the flip side, when we had a dispute with a builder who was a member of FSB, I contacted them to seek mediation and they could not have been less interested. (maybe that was ‘good’ for their member, but guaranteed I would would never be one) On paper, it all looks very good. In reality, it’s just another QUANGO with flash c*nts drawing high salaries off membership subs. Follow the money Alex....
  10. What do we know about BBC reporting? If it’s a disgruntled Janner with a sawn off or an estranged father in a Spider-Man outfit or any form of Caucasian criminality..... they’ll be reporting it as quick as a flash. If, on the other hand, there is the slightest hint of a foreign name there’ll be tumbleweed and radio silence for an eternity. Just saying like, that’s the BBC for ya!
  11. Haven’t seen her contribution yet Egger.
  12. Proper going off in Plymuff tonight! Think I’ll give tomorrow’s job a body swerve. MPs and councillors ‘taking to social media’ to implore people not to take to social media - yeah, OK, I see what they’ve done there.... Emergency services respond to incident in Keyham in Plymouth https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-devon-58189679
  13. I don’t Chris, it’s just a case that I only ‘talk’ about the bad experiences. It might give a certain ‘weighted’ impression but all anyone should hope for is efficiency and consistency. It’s just not human nature to comment when something happens as it should, whereas it is human nature to harp on when it doesn’t. I guess I could say I have 80% positive 20% negative experiences with LA - but that’s not all TO. It was deputy head of county planning that mugged of the scenario with application forms. No way that’s TO fault, they are not even being consulted on app’s that say “No,No.”. I’ve no doubt at all that if they were they’d be all over it. It’s a ‘system’ weakness and, in my experience, there was nobody willing to engage. Lead TO pretty much said it was a “planning” problem, planning weren’t interested. That was 1 (small) parish in 1 county where I found about a dozen app’s over 18 months that were factually wrong - multiply that up nationally and the numbers get a bit worrying. edit - just thinking on, and reflecting on today’s new task - I’m sure it also has a fair bit to do with taking on the ‘trickier’ scenarios that lend them selves more to interpretation rather than application. In my own defence, I don’t think I moan anything like as much as my architect mates do about planners 🤪
  14. Sounds like PD, unlikely to have an eco report. A bit off topic, but the number of planning apps that state “No, No” for trees and hedges when it should be “Yes” still staggers me. I even tried raising it as an issue with LPA once - distinct lack of interest frankly. Edit - Meant to say - conditions based on assumptions? That’d be fun to challenge.
  15. One of my funniest experiences.... Narrow lanes, I’m driving wife’s little car, meets peroxide blonde puma in a shiny new (what do they call that little hairdressers Land Rover?) Can’t remember. She gets all animated with the wavy finger thing because she doesn’t want to pull in to the edge and risk hedge rash, I pull in and say come on through, you could get a bus through there, she’s aving none of it. It was only when she said you can move that shitty little car, I’m not scraping this that caused the hackles to really go up. I politely suggested you could get a bus through there and questioned her suitability / eligibility to be driving whilst physically standing arms spread in the space she needed to drive through. Her husband said nothing. Son got out of the back and puffed up like a bantam. That’s not going to help... Eventually, after several drivers indicated her stupidity she ‘squeezed’ through. 2 cars behind her there actually WAS a bus and he glided through easily as well 😂
  16. Not just bad down here J, wifey is at M5/M6 interchange around Brum, 1 hour to move 6 miles 🤯. Whilst she’s on domestic travel, wouldn’t want to try and run a business under those kind of conditions. Guess it becomes ‘normal’ if yome forced to get used to it?
  17. I had a beauty on Sunday. The ubiquitous narrow high side lane and a ‘visitor’ in a BMW. As 2 more cars pulled up behind him, from the same party, you could see the relief on his face as he gesticulated that I should reverse because he was 1 of 3. That got quite funny as he frantically waved 3 fingers at me. His attempt to reverse literally the 2m (compared to the 1000m I knew I’d have to go) to the spot where we could pass was both painful and hilarious to watch. I just smiled as he hurled insults as I passed. Soon be back to ‘normal.’
  18. I can't find the exact thread where Big J complains about West country roads - there were too many search results 😂 But I think this guy is a distant cousin of J's (watch the vid, don't bother with the journalism - it's Cornwall Live so it is shite at its very best: https://www.cornwalllive.com/news/cornwall-news/man-campervan-says-rubbish-cornwall-5761383?fbclid=IwAR1rItnQj5E_96mhY4hY92eNYiDWRf0pGo4hiyEXeOxPq1N-eynUQcH62Mk
  19. I think there's more to this than may immediately be apparent: 'Gimp Man of Essex' aiming to spark debate while fundraising WWW.BBC.CO.UK A rubber fetishist takes to the streets in a 'gimp suit' in an attempt to challenge stereotypes and raise money.
  20. Watching or acting??
  21. Totally agree there a problem and that problem has consequences. Starmer is playing a dirty political trick by attempting to link both the problem and the (so called) solution to Brexit. Is he really so daft, or arrogant and out of touch, as to seek to dump all over the former Labour Brexit voting heartlands though?
  22. Absolutely! BUT, it fits his re-neverendum agenda to claim Brexit is the cause of a shortage of truckers - conveniently ignoring the fact that the trucker shortage pre-dates Brexit by at least 5 years and is a consequence of that industry failing to implement a credible sustainability plan.
  23. That’s an outrageous assumption of my perfectly entitled opinion of how big a “thing” wokeness is! You've no right to project YOUR assumptions into my free thinking space! Im conflicted and confused as to whether I should slink off to my safe space for a sob session or go on a march to declare my independent right to free thought and speech..... (all of that said, and stated for the record, I’m actually inclined to agree Mark - but keep it on the QT! 😂)
  24. Not quite the same, but similar..... Horrible barsteward in my childhood village, proper wrong un but ultimately probably the unluckiest geez I’ve ever heard of. Always up to mischief and never a thought for the consequences to himself or others. First major mishap was speeding back from a late night pub session as pillion on a motorbike. Twisty turny country lane, hard left and over one of the little humpback bridges over a stream with a black and white concrete pillar at either side and a scaffold bar between the 2. The bike took out the first pillar, driver was thrown clear and Harry Porter was skewered on the horizontal pole. Our house was 300m away. The sirens woke us, the screams of “let me die” as the fire brigade cut a section of the pole away so they could fit him in the ambulance kept us awake! Still remember it now 40 years later. Episode 2 in his short life was (apparently innocently) being hit by the getaway car from an armed blag in Oxford city centre and thrown through a plate glass shop window - again, somehow, he survived that. Finally met his match, no more than late 20s, after missing the last foot passenger ferry from the aptly named “Ferryman Inn” at Bablock Hythe whence upon he decided to swim across the flood swollen Thames to get home to Appleton. Found his bloated and disfigured body past Cowley Bridge several weeks later. Village life was broadly somewhat more enjoyable for the vast majority in the subsequent years.....
