  1. And that differs to anyone in the political sphere how exactly? Im sure they all do it out of altruism and public service 😂
  2. Sure, you do what you want and let others do what they want - tart!
  3. Yeah, for sure, that’s ‘one’ way of interpreting it Egger 🤪 Another might be - through fundamental freedom of choice, some people that happen to acknowledge or even agree that the job that person does represents a reflection of their own views which are suppressed elsewhere - whether in part or whole - and they are happy to demonstrate their agreement through entirely voluntary cash contribution. Oddly, it is exactly this degree of freedom of choice which is demonstrated the length & breadth of the country through procurement of a FC season ticket, through subscription or purchase of any specific newspaper, through subscription to any political party, it’s even evident as low down the daily spectrum as which brand of bread or beer we buy and the pubs, clubs, restaurants and take-aways we choose to patronise. We don’t buy or want what we don’t like and nobody can make us - just one of the fundamental freedoms we enjoy. Another is that anyone that does like what we don’t is free to indulge if they choose to. If you don’t like it, don’t buy it (not like I think I need to say that to you BTW) but there are those that think they have some sort of right to tell others what they should or shouldn’t subscribe to. They can FRO as far as I’m concerned.
  4. Shocker - private individual speaks truth to power and gets royally shafted by the very system that he seeks to expose.
  5. Those bastions of legal integrity, historic democracy, liberty, freedom of expression and (in some cases) Marxist/ Communist ideologues..... If it even were true then, it’s (by degrees) STILL true that anyone considering a visit to certain South and Central American countries “ought” to have at least a cursory consideration of the potential to be ‘disappeared.’ Christ Mark (excuse the pun) I should expect it would even feature high in the RA of a Papal visit. (Catholic church - historic / current / future systemic criminality.....) Not wanting to drift off into whataboutary, but ANYONE visiting C & S America has an evens chance of arrest. Not necessarily due to their own (supposed) criminality, but just because that’s what happens there. Dear, dear, dearly departed Lady Thatcher. Whatever next..... (despairs at your incessant attempts to darken her character with your ridiculous prejudice.)
  6. Shave off! I preferred it when they were knocking chunks out of each other... Now it’s like a dating site 💕🤮
  7. Air exchange and filtration upgrades in buildings would be better that grubby masks.
  8. As masks are better at protecting others than the user this country as left it up to most callous and inconsiderate to dictate other safety. Lots of immune compromised now back into full isolation as of today. What a shit show I understand that stance and recognise that many subscribe to it. I don’t. What that position requires is that EVERY BODY has to comply with a broad array of ‘restrictions’ for the sake of the few. Of course I get it, I just don’t subscribe to it. If I’m walking, I don’t wear a helmet or seat belt, if I’m cycling, on a motorbike, in a car, I step up my personal measures appropriately. It’s all very well calling non imunally suppressed callous and inconsiderate but thats akin to referring to the imunally suppressed as selfish, inconsiderate and manipulative because they are gaslighting the majority. Id say both extremes are patently nonsense but we seem to be in an ever more polarised society. Agreed - med spec PPE in a surgical environment - effective. A grubby hanky stored in a pocket and partially covering a face, utterly (worse than) useless. I don’t buy it, I ain’t doing it and I’m not listening to the attempted gaslighting and guilt tripping.
  9. As snidy digs go it’s quite funny.... But you’re right, abject stupidity and confirmation bias will kick in. A quote from some Prof on LBC yesterday - wearing face masks to combat Covid is akin to throwing a fist ful of marbles at a builders scaffolding. 1 or 2 May hit a pole and bounce off but the majority..... straight through! Same with face masks. Unless properly fitted adequately spec’d , you’re just as well stick 1 finger in your ear for all the good they do. But they HAVE provided a comfort blanket to the terrified and the compliant and created self appointed Covid ‘police.’
  10. Well that’s well and truly put paid to my previous line of thinking..... 🤮
  11. What’s a honey wagon business.... Shod I be thinking along ‘alternative’ meanings....?
  12. It’s a re-run! All been done before 😂
  13. There was such a vacuum created by the multiple sharp intake of breath by the collective TO fraternity at the Mynors Barcham Trees seminar when this subject was broached - and the myth shot to, well, you know - that I think my ears popped 😂 Just search "actionable nuisance" and set yourself about 3 weeks aside to read previous discussions - a selection attached below:
  14. TPO on a back garden Eucalyptus.... Thats just wrong on so many levels....
  15. There certainly are circumstances where a person, not being the owner of a tree which is subject to TPO, may undertake work to the tree without recourse to anyone’s consent.
