  1. Run a 25" bar on my 440. Double dogs and full chisel chain, has to be kept razor sharp otherwise can be abit slow.
  2. Nice vid Matty! I definitely need to blow the dust of my go-pro and start using it. No excuses now those helmet mounts have arrived
  3. Hi Will, what's the tds goodwinch goldfish like??
  4. I've owned all three. And by far the t540xp is my favourite, yes you have to be more gentle with it and keep it clipped up high when moving around, but all the negatives it makes up for in cutting speed.
  5. Everyone uses a saw one handed. Be it: to hold and secure positioning, cut & hold or for extra reach. If they don't there never going to keep up the pace with domestic or commercial arb. Hope you heal quick
  6. I bought one of the early 201's and even with a muffler mod and re-tune it still ran like a pig, slow pickup and didn't really rev out that well. Ive tried one of the new ones with the enhancement pack and felt like a completely different saw, very close to my 200t The 201t put such a bad taste in my mouth I recently bought a t540xp at the APF and wow what an engine! Well just see how long the body holds up.......
  7. You must be a very handy man! Running one is bad enough at times:)
  8. Here's mine...... Just rebuilt it onto a galv chassis and the week before the oil pump packed in so also replaced the engine:sad:
  9. Hi Matty, Heard the bad news off your mum the other day, hope you either get some kit back or the insurance pays out quick!! Chin up. Mark.
  10. You can get a hold of replacement shackles easily, just replaced my 3rd bridge and had to replace one shackle as I chewed up the Aln key hole. How do find the harness comfort wise?? I don't really rate mine as I find it rides up when loaded on the side D's using a flipline.
  11. Be careful........I have a set of Marix pumas on my 90 and I've been told there pretty much the same as the Insa turbo. I'm having problem balancing the fronts:thumbdown: Tyres are two years old.
  12. Just to update the thread. Getting a fully rebuilt 200t off a bloke I subcontract to. £350 and it hasn't been used since the rebuild. As good as it probably is, the auto tune can wait for now:001_tt2:
  13. I'm going to contact the local husky dealer. What's the average price for one?? Around the £550?
  14. As the title says I'm after a backup topper, currently have a 201t (muffler modded) and shall we say it's ok, I've got used it. Prefer the feel of the saw to a 200t but obvious lacks power compared to one. Here are my options: buy a 200 off ebay etc and have it checked over, say £350. Or save up a few more penny's and get a t540xp £500+, but I'm quite reluctant after owning a 201 buying something that's not tried & tested as such and hasn't had all it's creases ironed out! If it were your money what would you do?? Thanks Mark.
  15. Only use my pantin when my rope is in thin air, away from anything etc
  16. Defender 300tdi - 170k it's failing to bits. Chassis swap this year!
  17. You can get seat risers for tdci's, craddocks do them. Also all makes & mm-4x4.
  18. Had one of the chassis earth straps rusted through before, causing the temperature gauge to over read into the red. 300tdi tho, so depends on the age of your td5?
  19. Spend the extra and get the 461! I have a 440 and sometimes use my mates 460 and it's got bags more grunt!
  20. 2nd that:thumbup:
  21. I'm sure you can get modulars in 15". But don't know the correct off set etc. Item No:281181558454 (15x7)
  22. Thought the bloke walking pasted at the start looked very dodgey:001_smile: Nice trip tho:thumbup:
  23. Quite often do 120mile round trip. Defender with heavy duty springs is not comfortable:thumbdown:
  24. Try a 201 with a muffler mod. Mines went for from being completely gutless to very similar to 200t:001_smile:
  25. I use a steering lock and wired a fuel cut off switch to the pump. It won't stop it from being nicked but will hopefully slow em down!! Hope he gets it's back.
