  1. Bloody hell! I got told off by a traffic cop for having a large sat nav at the bottom of my windscreen. He'd probably shoot you:biggrin:
  2. Don't start on me or I'll tell ya mum:001_tt2: and you'll lose your computer privileges:biggrin:
  3. Some problems are just better kept to yourself, some things are just better left unsaid, and all that:001_smile: Or as my 10 yr old niece used to say, " too much information"
  4. “Arguing with anonymous strangers on the Internet is a sucker's game because they almost always turn out to be—or to be indistinguishable from—self-righteous sixteen-year-olds possessing infinite amounts of free time.” ― Neal Stephenson, Cryptonomicon
  5. I wish you'd never posted this:sneaky2: when you find the bleach, send it this way:biggrin:
  6. I was trying to search an address this afternoon, so googled 'Kirklees TPO's' This thread was the third or fourth hit I tried Kev Stephenson's link, but the page wanted 'Internet Explorer', so a found it under another search term - then thought to post it here:biggrin: If I'd gone through the call centre:sneaky2: originally in 2016, I'd probably still be waiting for a response to my original enquirey:lol:
  7. Not sure how applicable they are in India:biggrin: As it's a species I'm not familiar with, I'd try to get an idea of both its ability to regenerate and compartmentalize decay. If both appear good, and you can come back at a later date, then prune more for aesthetic form with an idea that you can sort out problems that have occurred from the earlier pruning. Otherwise prune to a 'standard' regardless of what the tree is going to end up looking like.
  8. https://mapping.kirklees.gov.uk/connect/analyst/?mapcfg=Publication%20Draft%20Local%20Plan&x=408531&y=404192&zoom=7&overlays=Publication%20Draft%20Local%20Plan%20Accepted%20Options,Publication%20Draft%20Local%20Plan%20Accepted%20Options%202,Publication%20Draft%20Local%20Plan%20Green%20Belt,Boundaries&x=408531&y=404192&zoom=8 Another link to the UDP site - TPOs and CA's if anyone needs them
  9. Maybe his leccy battery died and they're coming back?
  10. :biggrin::lol::lol:Harsh
  11. Not heard of them, we use Amberon. Normally TM is involved with site jobs, not domestic, so the main contractor sorts that. When it's domestic work, TM and a permit is prohibitively expensive, putting a grand on the job.
  12. You're just cynical
  13. The TM company we use sack anyone who even get out of the vehicle without full hi-viz, jackets have to zipped up etc Those are the rules, no messing.....
  14. 2nd that
  15. We have a dual carriageway bypassing the center of town. Shutting the lanes is never good, but when then the grass is cut, the tree work is done, gulleys are cleaned and highways mess about with the lighting. It's done right and the council really do utilise the lane closure:thumbup1:
  16. Many are. Hire companies and the like offering repair services when they have no proper manufacturer (type) training or experience. Every nut and bolt needs to be 'ordered in', with no normal consumable parts on the shelf. I needed a chain urgently, local 'dealer' couldn't help as the bloke who made them was on holiday. I asked if they could cut the number of DL's and I'd make it up myself back in our workshop - Didn't know how to split a roll of chain and couldn't/wouldn't let me do it:sneaky2: Useless, wouldn't buy a spark plug off of them now
  17. So, to sum up this thread. Poor management leads to high or excessive costs!
  18. Do you think I'd get away with saying its 'carry-on/hand luggage' on the plane? Anyway, it looks like you're getting involved in some interesting stuff there - happy days.
  19. Totally agree that it needs to be done well. I normally take knackered thread stuff to the engineering co. next door for the retapping part. It's too easy to ruin the cylinder if you don't line the tap up right.
  20. Superglue? Or catnip.
  21. I want two. Anyone got any of that 'Acacia', I really like that:biggrin: I know it's expensive, very expensive, but it's coming from an outlet that obviously has a client base who are prepared to pay for it. I think most of the woodwork I see on here is undervalued, reading posts from millers who can't sell some really nice timber - because the markets full of people who think chipboard, plywood and MDF is 'wood' I was searching for a desk/computer table and came across it, I'd really like something like that (and would pay a fair price) but it's not suited to fit in my planned cubby-hole office space:sneaky2:
  22. Or how about next time you've sorted a blocked drain, stood on a pile of steaming ..... Maybe not.
  23. Stone cold sober! You're all philistines:biggrin: I love it anyway!
  24. 59" W desk office modern Solid slab Acacia wood black iron legs spectacular | eBay I want one of these
