  1. T&CPA, Part VIII, Section (2) and (3)a that he served notice of his intentions to do the act in question and (3)b(ii) after the expiryof the period of six weeks from the date of the notice but before the expiryof the period of two years
  2. I think I'm married to her sister:biggrin:
  3. The LA are still adamant that the tree is still protected by the CA
  4. Done it, but what a faff. It isn't that straightforward when the account is a [email protected]. Had to go into admin privileges, authorise it and then back to the two step page. Then lost the wire-fi at home in the middle of it all. Only took ninety minutes to set up. To do this at work will involve four separate user accounts and phones, then working out who in the office is actually the administrator:blushing: Better set a day aside:biggrin:
  5. I'm still more worried that alcohol consumption is more damaging to my liver than using roundup!
  6. I been thinking of doing this. One question. We have wireless at home and work, password protected networks, to which PC's, laptops etc are permanently connected. How safe safe is it being permantly logged in to the email systems? Should we be logging in and out all the time?
  7. I wouldn't involve the insurance company if at all possible. They don't act for you, they act for their shareholders. It's a small claim, to them, so to avoid the risk of going to court they are likely to pay out and recuperate the cost from you with higher premiums. I had a minor knock, which initially wasn't going to involve the insurance companies, which then escalated into whiplash claims and thousands of pounds. My insurance wouldn't fight it. The taxi driver I hit self-diagnosed his own injuries, never sought medical opinion but they paid out to avoid court. I changed insurance companies after that.
  8. I only know about losing arguments with mine! Black is white when she say it is..... Please advise!
  9. Sorry to the OP, no disrespect meant but we are all aware how people attempt to profit from other peoples mistakes. Although we see the humour in it, it's not funny really. The OPs father has make a mistake, acted reasonably and responsibly to rectify the incident - to put things right, then the injured party tries to have his trousers down to profit from it. They're all despicable and would moan like mad if the position was the other way round.
  10. That's a kind offer which will add to the 'knowledge pot' of Arbtalk. Between us all we can usually provide an answer to questions, everyone having their own particular specialised subject.
  11. You're so cynical:biggrin:
  12. I think his dad's lucky that there hasn't been a claim that the occupiers family were leaning against the wall and injured when the car rolled into it.
  13. Apologies, but I've more questions. I've emailed the client, who is away now until next month. She apparently received a letter from the LA saying that the Order wasn't being confirmed. I don't know, yet, whether it also said that the tree was still protected by the Conservation Area. As the client was the applicant originally, I understand that all notices etc go to her. But when I then asked the planning department for the date that they received the 211 notice, I think I became an interested party - particularly because they then served or sent a copy of the TPO to me. By default, I think the planning department have acknowledged my role, maybe inadvertently, as an Agent and should, therefore, be sending me all the correspondence that they are sending the owner. What are peoples opinions? Theoretically, the LA could serve a new order next week (post it through the owners door), the tree would again be protected but I would none the wiser - having no confidence that I would personally get another copy. Just wondering where I would stand if I started felling it, in the belief that no order was on it because I haven't been served a new TPO?
  14. Bugger, I thought it was Pleurotus ostreatus (Oyster fungus) but didn't want to post and be wrong, then David posted so I thought I'd got one right:thumbup1:
  15. The pointing, To my mind, indicates the quality of the work done. In court, you would hope that although you would lose the case ( your dad did the damage and admitted liability), the judgement will be limited to a reasonable level, as indicated by the quotes you've got.
  16. Think there's something on mine, I can't go online without logging onto arbtalk, even when I'm meant to be doing something work related.
  17. Maybe it's time to call it a day and retire Bob:001_tt2:
  18. Probably a good thing:biggrin: Couple of people have said that they tried to open the attachment ( which led to a Dropbox) but couldn't. Guess it's a good thing the hacker seems to made some Mistake or who knows what would have happened!
  19. Tbh I don't understand the difference. All I know is that my contacts were accessed, then sent a short message and attachment. Some of these were people I'd had contact with several yrs ago!
  20. I can find a direct line to a planning officer who can answer your query, but not until I get into the office, probably tomorrow?
  21. And this is why AA Paul keeps bringing up CPD:biggrin: We think we know or understand something, discuss with our peers (normally betters in my case) and come to a realisation we've more to learn and understand. Ya got to enjoy it:thumbup1: This may be handy https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/438925/trn_app_guidance.pdf
  22. KevinJohnsonMBE had a thread recently, on the six week 211 notice. Someone posted the legislation from the T&CPA showing that there is no provision or allowances for bank holidays- six weeks is six weeks. So I'd assume six months are six calendar months, but I'll try to check and confirm that.
  23. I keep meaning to save that site. I have now:thumbup1:
  24. And my next question is........ Does anyone know how the six months are calculated? If the order was served on Jan 1st, does six months elapse on the 1st of June? Or does it elapse after 26 weeks? Being pedantic, as I sometimes am, six months seems a little ambiguous, some months are longer than others, there's more days in February some years than others etc
