  1. I keep thinking that the only way the construction industry will ever be policed adequately is that when the method statement says that there will be arboricultural superrvision, at key stages, it is actually done. If it means a consultant has to visit to sign off, make them pay for it. If the site hasn't been worked to the AMS, don't sign the site off. A substantial bond, securing tree health and longevity, would be great, but don't know if legislation is really there to implement it. If the TO visits, to deal with a contravention of the AMS, charge the builder. The planning system is sort of there to implement this with the AMS,but no-one ever confirms it's been adhered to.
  2. "Good things come to those who wait" I'm still waiting! and; "Good luck comes to those who deserve it" Maybe why I'm still waiting:lol:

  4. You're a lucky man David, employed in doing what you obviously enjoy. I'd like your job, or one on Mythbusters blowing things up:biggrin: Said in acknowledgement that you make your own 'luck'.
  5. How do you 'borrow' paint?
  6. Want one for me Prius
  7. Gold's around £30 a gram, so at nearly 730gms (£21,900), that an expensive bit of scrap cable:001_tt2:
  8. No point looking at nitrous until after a big block V8 and blower:001_tt2:
  9. Might be a bit more difficult where you are but, the last client needed some stems of a particular length and diameter we contacted someone else with a bit of woodland and just went harvested what we needed ( working within the broad management concept of the wood). Is that something you, or someone nearby, could arrange?
  10. Result:thumbup1: I'm involved with something at the moment, client is going for an interview under caution for a contravention. But ultimately, the site should be improved, with replanting introducing some new, more suitable species, diversity of age classes etc. If common sense prevails and the LA agree that it isn't in the public interest to be punatative there's a betterment to the site. What I find ironic, is that if an application to fell half a dozen low value TPO'd trees was submitted - to replant and improve the site, everyone would probably view it with dismay and refuse!
  11. It's an office when I'm working for work, a study when I'm doing course work, also the cats room when they're sleeping on the lap top or watching cat videos on youtube. Also the repository for the ironing pile:thumbdown:
  12. I'm struggling to reach an agreement with the missus for bookcases/shelving for my study cum office. I'll show her this and see what she thinks:lol:
  13. Yew needle garnish:biggrin:
  14. Stone me, can't imagine how feel collating all that lot. I get annoyed if I lose a single caribiner somewhere. The words seem valueless, but I truly hope you can recover from this and move yourself and your business forward.
  15. Lighting the fuse and standing well back seems eminently more sensible than banging away at 50 cals with a hammer.
  16. Did he win a Darwin Award? Jokes aside, did anyone ever ask him why he thought it a good idea?
  17. So did you finish the grinding and get paid?
  18. On the good side, you didn't hit anything in the second cut:001_rolleyes:
  19. Maybe people don't realise that they can edit others posts when quoting them:confused1:
  20. Best solution I've found your problem is to have someone cutting and someone sharpening. ( and spare saws) You can then laugh at each other's misfortune and temper tantrums all day long: It somehow doesn't seem so bad if one person thinks he's job is sharpen saws only and the other doesn't feel he's getting nowhere every time he hits a nail.
  21. You wouldn't have an account in Nigeria by any chance?
  22. It's becoming exceedingly difficult to work out who is perpetuating the purpose of the original post, and who isn't:confused1:
  23. Like the horse, but I think micks artistry is more evident in the draw bar!
  24. You know your days are numbered working for a company, when you're the last to know about major developments. Any talk about early retirement recently Paul?
