  1. Lovely work there, but.....Curvy Abstract?? I think what you've got there is a hatrack
  2. Just bought a 1l bottle of the Stihl green oil for £13.75. Bought our first 4-mix machine in Sept and have been having starting issues with it for a while. New plug and air filter fitted. Hoping the new oil solves our probs for the hedgecutting season.
  3. 2 poss 3 of us could be interested if you find anything local, Dr.Green
  4. Tidy work !! They're brilliant! I can see the plyboard sheet and felt shingle roof of the "Bus Shelter" in our back garden getting a makeover this Summer.
  5. Yeah, we've just done our first day of a 3 day FAW course run by the Red Cross today. Wasn't expecting anything arb-specific, but surely that isn't the point of the course? They are teaching general procedures & good practice with the aim of getting a casualty to survive til the cavalry arrive. Whatever it takes, really. If that means using something outside the Green Box like Cellox, fine. I just don't expect to be taught about it on an official, one-size-fits-all course like this one. Keep it handy along with the extra large wound dressings, eye wash, tweezers etc etc that live next to the Green Box:thumbup:
  6. Did a green woodworking course before Christmas with Jon Purkins near Alnwick. Check with him on Facebook, where he goes by the name of Small Axe Creative Woodcraft. He may be interested in using your venue himself or know of someone who is.
  7. Yeah, split it as soon as you can. Gets it dried quicker. Also it's much tougher to split once it dries out.
  8. Always enjoy your very intelligent weather posts. A welcome change from the Met Office scheisters. Our nearest garage has been advertising "Snow tyres now in stock" since about October. Local DIY shop invested big in sledges too, hoping for a repeat of last year's foot of snow. Feels like we haven't had a proper winter yet. Bring it on!
  9. Boots are a very personal choice. Depends on the shape of your feet (obv). Get yourself into a dealer and try some on! I did it a couple of weeks ago and found Haix Blue Ridge really comfy. Loving them so far.
  10. Went through exactly the same process as this last year. Bought a new 038 as my first "big" saw 20 years ago and it finally ran out of puff at the end of another very busy day of cutting on a job last summer. Great saw. I did a LOT of thinking about the replacement:biggrin: and in the end narrowed it down to three candidates. Husq 365 is the same performance but feels much lighter. 372xp is lighter, more cc's and a much more modern saw(vibes/emissions) MS460 is the same size and weight but LOADS more grunt:icon14: How's your back? How's the HAVS? How deep are your pockets? Buying a new saw only happens rarely for most of us, so enjoy!
