  1. Why is it I'm getting a small feeling mark is trying to go somewhere with this.........
  2. And you could also do it during the day from either iPhone or iPad 3G. Not having to stop work if only to place the order during a tea break. Exactly the same as i do. Doesn't interfere with working, means I can move onto the next machine safely knowing the parts are on there way.
  3. But from the 3rd you won't. No matter what the past history with that dealer. As for ANYTHING that has the stihl name on it.
  4. Missed it completely. This is exactly what they are stopping.
  5. Yep. This stihl thing has turned my workshop upside down. No news on the husky saw. Comp is good, fuel is good and spark is good. No marks on piston.
  6. Easy morning so far. Ms290 just a bar dress and sharpen as with the ms170. Ts400 fuel line split. Ordered one of those. The husky is a bit different, starts and runs fine then plays up and is a bugger to start again. Comp is good hot or cold. Just going to whip the exhaust off and check the piston then check the spark.
  7. Build up of unburnt fuel in the exhaust maybe. What saw. Does it run ok.
  8. The number arnt on a sticker but a plate should be there. Have a look under the covers.
  9. Funny you mention that, an old school friend is now and IT programmer and is setting one up for me at the moment. Of course its costing me a few drinks.
  10. Disco. Much more comfy to drive and use.
  11. Spreading every day Barrie. To be honest the mowers are not the biggest part. I actually get more saws, hedgecutter, spinners, strimmers, and other machines than I do mowers. The problem I have now is I don't advertise. Never actually have, word of mouth does more for me than anything. Think I need to get some ads up.
  12. Trust me I see your frustration jnoon. I'm probably just the same at the moment. On another note is anyone employing anyone full time. Could be looking for full time employment soon. Don't think just mower repairs will keep food on the table....
  13. Why would you be selling a stihl there Jon.:lol:
  14. Is the chain actually tight enough.
  15. For machines it generally has. For toppers it definatly has. But for consumable item like parts and ppe as well as stihl branded items it hasn't, this is what has changed,
  16. :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol: carefull now....
  17. I have been very loyal to stihl throughout my time both in arb and repairing machines. I have rated them well above any machine going. Now I can't, the repairs will suffer and my prices will increase greatly as I will have to travel to collect parts and this will have to be charged to the customers. Instead of me paying a few pounds for postage costs that I instead pick up the cost of and I don't transfer this cost to the customer. Now I will have no choice. This could or will make me loose customers who have been loyal to me and recommend my work. This is not on and if this goes ahead I will not be taking any machines on that require parts to be fixed. Stihl machines can rot in a skip. Get a grip stihl and move on. It's 2013, the world shops online now, or you will become one of the high street shops that are struggling as everyone goes online. 18. Why wouldn't you be? Unless it under a warranty and if that bit breaks there may be some hassle over it. But then you would have to go face to face to a dealer to get it looked at...... I've seen plenty painted saws, none seem to have effected to saw at all. On resale it may be an issue with the buyer not wanting a painted saw.
  19. Not long.... Short answer.
  20. Depends on the type of job its needed for. If it in a yard then a basic one will do. If its forestry and on rough ground a 4x4 one. Will he need telescopic, if so how long. Does he plan on taking the forklift on the road. What attachments is he wanting for it. Not enough info in the op tbh.
  21. These have just turned up. The ms290 and the ms190 just need a sharpen. The t400 will not start. The husky will start but stop after a few minutes. God I hope I don't need to buy any stihl parts.
  22. What I meant. Does anyone know I'm crap at explaining things yet? The comment over the rings was aimed at just the worn rings. If the rings had gone the oil would burn out exhaust not go through air filter.
  23. This thread. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/f-r-jones-son/58549-very-important-stihl-information.html
  24. Just boycot the stihl stands at shows. I'm a stihl man through and through or I was. Now I'm undecided. Can't carry on loving a saw company when they go and do something like this. Check out the othe trip thread in forum about stihl changing policy again.
