  1. True. National minimum wage is £11.44 for over 21's , so an 8 hour day stacking shelves in tesco is going to get you nearly £100 a day.....more if you work evening hours.
  2. Stihl oils, lubricants and fuels are made to their specification by a company called OMNI Speciality packaging based in the USA, Louisiana. They produce bespoke products for a lot of well known brands. If you go to their website, and then click on the videos tab at the top, then watch the corporate video you will see Stihl motomix at the 37 second mark Omni Specialty Packaging WWW.OSP.CC Omni Specialty Packaging (OSP) manufactures, markets, and distributes lubricants and chemicals to automotive and...
  3. Is it fitted with a rim sprocket? It's possible the drive teeth aren't located in the corresponding holes for them in the rim, so with the side cover loose it will allow the chain to move, but when tightened as the chain isn't correctly located it will clamp it up and not allow it to move?
  4. Yes, it is running within acceptable parameters. As ADW has said, by modding the exhaust all you have done is make it a bit lighter.....so every cloud and all that
  5. 1.3mm and 1.5mm is the thickness of the drive link that sits in the groove of the bar. It may not sound a lot of difference and both will sit in the groove when cold, but as the chain rotates through use, the metal bar and chain will get hot and hot metal expands-this will cause a 1.5mm drive link fitted to a 1.3mm bar groove to jam and either simply lock up or throw the chain.

    Scam?

Just like the police force nowadays. 'vunerable people' 'duty of care' etc etc.
  7. I don't recall that. I've been dealing with various brands as a dealer for nearly 25 years now, and a Stihl main dealer for the best part of that, and I don't recall a Stihl fitted with a re-badged Honda 4-stroke unit. I have sold brush cutters that were from a manufacturer that decided to fit the excellent Honda GX25/35 4-stroke engine to their machines, but if definitely wasn't Stihl.
  8. errr...ok.
  9. Why?
  10. Here you go: Compression pressure should be between 7.5 and 8.5 bar. Here's the page from the WSM:
  11. .....or enter political life
  12. Spud is correct. Piston isnt visible....not by removing the exhaust or even the carb. I do have a list somewhere which i made up for new machines we sell of their compression psi. Particularly the 4 mix and the little honda gx25 and 35's etc which have a similar valve arrangement and just as impossible to view the piston. I will did it out and come back to you, although i do have a feeling in the stihl wsm they do give an idea of what is the factory psi, so may be worth a google. I know honda do, and something is telling me they did the same with one of their 4 mix engines of the stihl. If you know someone with a borescope then remove the plug and have a look inside..still wont be able to view the side of the piston by you will be able to see any scoring or surface transfer to the barrel

Hmmmm.....There was 1 death registered in London in the period 2001 to 2021 which had exposure to air pollution recorded on the death certificate in either part 1 or part 2 of the death certificate. This death was attributed to environmental air pollution, however we are unable to determine whether this involved car emissions. Apparently if you pay the Ulze fee your 'polluting' vehicle automatically becomes environmentally friendly for the day in question.

  18. 'Battery equipment still has a long way to come' Agree...we've had a lot of warranty rejected on battery stuff due to damp in the electrics. Most 'normal' domestic users have a shed in the garden where they store their kit...particularly over winter. Battery stuff doesn't like anything other than a warm climate to be stored as damp plays havoc with PCB's. My customers have gone nuts being told Stihl won't pay out for a repair as effectively Stihl are saying the machines should be stored in the house over winter, if the shed isn't heated!
  19. If you've ridden a motorcycle behind a non sheeted load of sand on a windy day you would soon realise why it's a sensible idea
  20. If she went like a train, then I think I could have tolerated not watching Blackadder with her and maybe going to the odd Cliff Richard concert once a year.......although from my experience female Cliff fans are as celibate as he makes out to be.
  21. Womens football seemingly 'must' have women pundits and commentators, but few if any men. Mens football 'seemingly' must have women pundits and commentators as well, but not a few.
  22. I have wondered exactly why if one celebrity is outwardly gay they 'must' have a same sex partner. Why? Why can't a gay guy dance with a straight girl, or even a gay girl? After all it's about the dancing...not who they may or may not be attracted to?
  23. I'm watching the darts
  24. Led Zeppelin. Technically brilliant............but as the songs go I think you needed to be stoned. Very overated, but liked by those 'thinking people' who think they were cool, because they weren't a mainstream 'pop' chart act. Which is fine....if the music was any good...which generally it wasn't
