1. My fiberglass handles have split at the base on my Carter spades. My fencing supplier says it's my fault for twisting the spades rather than just using them to remove dirt. I'd like something I can be brutal with occasionally without it breaking. These looked the part but I thought I'd see if there was any feedback from actual users. Not bothered about the double hinge thing, just want tools that work.
 2. Morning all, My old post hole diggers with fiberglass handles have finally given up the ghost. Does anyone have experience of the above? Looks great value at Screwfix for £55. Either that or a cheap place to source wooden handles to repair the old set ) cheers Tim
 3. It's probably already well known but these guys sell nice kit bags; Duffbag home of Monster and Stealth soft bike travel bags Not huge but ideal for chainsaw PPE if an occasional user like myself. Good bike bags as well
 4.

Hi Steve,

My front gardens all woodchip paths around raised veg beds so a load or two would be useful if still available?

A bit of notice would be good as I can move the trailer and give you an area to reverse onto.

cheers

 5. Get a mulching blade for it. (two blade with turned up ends) Massive destruction and nothing to clear up )
 6.

OK. What year is it, running well, bar/chain size, condition, etc?

Pics would be good.

Cheers

Hi,

Yes, it was me. It was a contact after you mentioned on a thread you might sell the MS260.

Not sure what FB Hedgeing is?

Pics and a price would be good.

I've got a bit of coppicing to do in December so a spare saw would be useful.

 9. Cool. Just spotted the postage charge so will wait till I need a bar/chain or am in Dorset next. Will make do with Sthil ones till then. Cheers Tim
 10. Morning Is it really August before you get anymore Save Edge 4.8mm in stock? Fancy trying a few and tis the time to sharpen chains! Thanks tim
 11. How about a pole saw attachment on a Kombi engine? (but you're not borrowing mine to try it ) Maybe an Oregon Powersharp bar on a pole saw. That'll be less work and easy to sharpen.
 12. VM650 here. Around 10 miles a week on it this season. Been faultless. The pull cord does wear but I've learnt not to pull it too hard as it's got that easy start thingy on it so only needs a gentle continuous pull. Might get a 5 series for next season as a back up if the work stays good as it has this year. Even the baby 248t is going strong after two years of getting a battering. I owe it a drive cable as it's got a bit sticky.
 13. The set came with the rope tie on the shaft. Excellent piece fo kit. Next day delivery as well. Got me out of a spot of bother on Saturday when my Kombi packed up just before completing the hedge. Out came the Wolfy and off I snipped. Wouldn't want to do much with them but it saved me a return trip. Cheers all. Tim
 14. thanks all. gardenmac - top website that. Cheaper than Jonsie! Made my order as I've got the saw attachment already and a few other heads for the smaller hand tool range. Not worried about using it off the ground as I don't climb )
 15. Evening all, I'm in need of a pole tree lopper set up. It won't get a lot of use but was wondering if the Professional WG ones are worth the extra few pounds over the standard ones? Any alternatives to Wolf Garten if there are better options for the same sort of money? Cheers Tim
 16. Thanks guys. As I thought. Looks like we'll have an digger/auger on site to speed the digging up a bit ) Guarantee I'll still be on the end of post spade at some point!
 17. It's going in clay/chalk soil. Never felt the need to concrete before, just put back in what came out with a bit of compacting with a rammer. Opinions? for info it's a resi post and rail fence with weld mesh on one side. No animals to contain, just small kids. Pretty rather than functional.
 18. I bought an IW GD10x5 at the end of last year. To say it's turned my business around is no word of a lie. Fencing is sooooo much easier now. No reliance on deliveries and much easier to shop around for better prices for my close board as I can collect with ease. It was a bargain to boot which was nice but a tad more than £300 Buy something you'd be gutted if it got nicked. IW trailers hold there value and are lovely to tow. Tim
 19. Looks sensible money to me. Problem is educating the customers to the cost of materials and the value of your labor.
 20. Just a quick one to those in the know; Is the above as capable as it looks? I'm after a mower for medium sized lawns and I need a roller for some of my more sniffy customers ) I been offered one for around £200 and it looks tidy enough. There are a few knocks to the side of the deck but it runs well. Any advice appreciated. Cheers Tim
 21. All done and dusted. Thanks for the advice. It's the most fun I've had fencing in ages. Assuming the rest of the fence falls down I'll get to continue it. I went with Turbo Gold screws in the end as they don't split the wood or need pilot holes. Cheers Tim (be gentle with me if you don't think it's any good!!)
 22. Stihl FS350 here with mulching blade. She's a little cracker and a bit cheaper than the bigger ones. Tim
 23. Wow, that was amazingly stupid. Bet he doesn't know how lucky he is to still be stealing air from the sensible people!
 24. A new 261's about £450 from the Mr Jones with a standard bar/chain. A clean tidy 260's got to be worth £200-£250 I'd say. More on eBay no doubt. PM me if you want sensible money for it. My old 023 and 025 could do with retiring. Tim
 25. Indeed they do. Been scrub clearing with mine this weekend. Blackthorn is laughed at, alas not by my arms, hands and forehead
