Anyone used them (French users more likely I guess) My local supplier had a Pro range on display and was wondering if the Roncier in particular would be any good for scrub clearance. Tried the Ripeur last year but wasn't bowled over by build quality to be honest. Cheers Tim

Afternoon all, Does anyone have a good source for replacement strimmer visors? I seem to scratch them up and would like a couple of spares. Screw fix do super cheap complete set ups but it's a shame to waste the head gear section each time I bugger the visor up.:thumbdown: Cheers Tim

I was impressed with mine off a KM85 engine. It's great for modern Harry Potter Quiditch impressions as well )

AVS Fencing in Ringmer are a good bunch and will deliver. Redgate Mill in Crowborough and also good but tricky to get hold of. Geoffs a character!!

I've got the 650VM. When it's working it's great. Had drive issues but they appear to be sorted now. The mulch is worth the extra money in my book. The collection in the wet is very good as well.

My grass cuts are backing up already. To mild and way too wet. Doesn't stop the stuff growing mind!

LOL - powers nothing without control with a leaf blower ) I've got a BG85 handheld and a 550 4 mix back pack blower. Both are excellent IMHO.

Indeed. Great mower though. Shame it's not proved to be reliable. Maybe I'm just unlucky with this one.

The Viking was great year one. Year two has seen a crack in the shaft and two gear boxes/vario units. Loss of speed followed by nasty grinding noises followed by no drive. The engine was still working perfectly so big up B&S ) Its a cracking good mower when working mind but the second gear box went within 100 yards of being fitted by the mechanic. It went back to Germany and now repaired it's seems as if the gearing is down and top speed is around 2.5 mph which is too slow in my book. My big lawns need 3mph or my knees hurt. I've lost faith in the machine and the customer service from Viking/Stihl. It's taken 3 month from initiaql problem to me getting the machine back and it's still not a satisfactory fix in my book. I like Hondas but can't justify HRX money for 1 day a week. The IZY ticks all the boxes I need and I can get a nice price as well which helps. Was just after real world experience. cheers Tim (oh, bot a 545VM as well and thats a little underwhelming)

Does anyone have any experience of the above mower? My Viking is driving me mad (650vm) and this might prove to be an alternative. I know the HRX would be a better option but I only have two big cuts a week so cost is a key issue for me. Cheers Tim

I've got that 650VM as well. T'was great for the first seasons use (only about 7-8 hours a week) but this years it seems to be unravelling. Currently with dealer for second warranty work of the year as the drives completely screwed. Stihl seem to be dragging their heals on warranty work as well at present so it's left me a little miffed. I've also got the 545VM. It's OK for a smaller mower but the 650 is a different league (when it's working) Tim

Interesting. I spoke with EA about waste licenses and was told that I didn't need one as long I only took away waste that I had generated in the line of my work (garden maintenance/landscaping/etc) It's the same at the recycling place where I take it. Simples!

<p>The works based between Seaford and Alfriston in East Sussex.</p>
<p>I've got 5-6 days to fill depending on progress and weather. Site access is a pain in the wet as it's a touch slippery on the chalk/clay of the SD's!</p>
<p>Money is £80-90 a day depending on skills. Time on site will be 8-3.30pm.</p>
<p>It's all blackthorn and gorse that needs felling and burning. Good fun but challenging as the sites on an escarpment. </p>

I've got a few days work for someone in East Sussex in the next few weeks weather permitting. Ideally you will be brushcutter and chainsaw qualified albeit I can work around someone without the tickets if they are willing to get stuck in with brash dragging (blackthorn so strong gloves needed) and bonfire duties. Self employed and insured ideally. Again, I can work around the insurance if needs be. It's not going to make you rich, it's not going to make you attractive to the opposite sex (prob less so with the amount of blackthorn holes you'll have in you after a days work) but it is in a beautiful part of the south Downs and who doesn't like a bonfire on the hills! I can provide transport from Lewes/Glynde if required as we'll be offroading to get on to site. PM me for details. Cheers Tim
