  1. There are good ones out there, you need to be patient and keep looking for low mileage ones and non ex electricity board ones that have been abused and converted. I love mine and it suits my needs but everyone's needs are different depending on the size of your business etc. My only gripe is that the brakes are crap compared to my L200, But I have been told this is normal.
  2. For the sake of £20 maybe worth a go, would be ok just to get the cutters back to all the same sizes on my .325 chains and then carry on by hand after. Would not use it on the bigger saw chains.
  3. Lidl are going to sale a chainsaw sharpener next Monday for £19:99, will it be any good? There is a video of it on their website. Never used one.
  4. I done mine through a distance learning college called learning curve and they set my work etc, and I took my exams at Bicton College.
  5. When I read about equipment being stolen more and more, I do think that there is something sick and fundamentaly wrong with our society and country. What gives someone the right to take from someone else and get away with it? Then the Police seem to be powerless or do nothing?
  6. Total respect, great videos. Would not want to be up there if there was an electrical storm!!!
  7. A marketing ploy by Husqvarna to make people question "what's that for"?
  8. Spray some WD40 on the moving parts, pins etc should then be fine. Had mine since they came out and love it.
  9. Good truck, drove one of them for a few years. Paint the boards just to tart it up a bit and should look ok. Good find.
  10. Fantastic saw, no regrets. Enjoy it.
  11. As above sold as jet winch as well, they are great.

    Tinnitus

I have had tinnitus for years, it comes and goes. But not as bad as it was in my thirties, had trouble getting to sleep back then, I am 45 now. I tend to block it out now and try not to listen to it. Also get ear infections and have to get my ears cleaned out, had tiny bit of wood dust in them last time I had them done. I can hear ok but my wife thinks I am deaf, selective hearing!!!! It is an occupational Hazard, the work not the wife. Wearing ear protection in hot weather is a perfect breeding ground for bugs keep your ear protection clean. Always wear your ear protection.
  13. You mirror a lot of people in our trade and other trades through out the country trying to earn a living. I think this guy is just being out of order with you. Don't worry Mate.
  14. Have used the top one, and they are fine for small stuff but not much cable length. If you can afford it get a lug all winch they are pricey but great winches mine was about £350. Another good winch for the money is a jet winch which is a copy of a turfir. I have had this for four years and has never let me down and has pulled some heavy timber, got mine from landmark trading. And don't forget some decent strops as well.
  15. Very good, clean website. You should be pleased with what's been done.
  16. Talk to your tree officer, don't take any risks.
  17. Not on the cider mate, gave that drink up years ago. Not that far from you Jon.
  18. Word of warning! Do not cut metal with chainsaw trousers on! Finished a tree job in the morning then decided to cut some metal rods up with an angle grinder for a future job. My mate shouted over to me and to my horror my trousers were on fire! Will not be doing that again. One pair of trousers in the bin. Bummer:thumbdown:
  19. Good one, those were the days.

  21. Just outside wells on the cheddar valley.
  22. The log burner is going for it tonight, get those logs on.
  23. I was going to buy one of those but decided to put the money towards a new chipper. If I get the chance I would get one. They look fine, would be good if you let me know how you get on. Good price go for it.
  24. Use a 20" and 25" on mine, happy with both. Keep the cutters sharp and should be fine.
