  1. Using petrol, diesel and tyres is wrong and dangerous
  2. Burning brash Somerset Levels style, on a platform to stop setting the peat on fire.
  3. Do not use petrol, diesel or tyres at all. Ash and Sycamore are easy to burn. Use fire lighters or a fire log you buy at a supermarket. I burn loads of time mainly Willow, Alder and Birch. Always start small and build a nice heart. And never rush a good fire be patient.
  4. Sad thing with mine was the truck was solid but after a certain mileage the the engines just give up and start going wrong in a big way I found
  5. When I first started out I used a SWB Parjero 2.5 and I absolutely loved it, great solid truck. Used to be able to get it in and out of the woods no problem. Took the back seats out and loads of room for the kit. I still would use it today if the crank shaft pulley had not fallen off, but that's another story altogether! If you can find a good one I would recommend one.
  6. To late, Defenders have been going at really stupid prices for some time now.
  7. Very sad, yet another music great has left us.
  8. Very good idea, I would use it.
  9. Gert Lush Tree Services, as you are a Devon boy.😀
  10. Sometimes you have no choice but to wear chainsaw wellies as its that wet. Oregon and Husqvarna boots are the more comfortable ones. Avoid Stihl find the width a bit too tight.
  11. I would never burn Holly on a fire in my house, really bad luck. We had two saws break down at the same time cutting down a Holly tree once. 👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻👻
  12. Some of the Somerset EA boys have gone up to help as well Jon.
  13. He was not even wearing chainsaw boots!!! Just some nice tanned boots they may have even been shoes!! Shame on you BBC. Shame.
  14. Don't go to a supermarket for petrol that's the lesson there. Had the some problem with Morrisons. Learnt the hard way not to use cheap supermarket petrol it will damage your carb. Pay the extra and buy higher octane quality petrol from somewhere else like esso.
  15. Never been up there Jon, would like to if passing. Only said Nene Overland as that's where mine came from and they did it to mine. Did a good job as well
  16. They are always advertising in Land Rover international magazine
  17. There are some bargains to be had if you look hard enough online. Got myself a Go pro hero3 for half price.
  18. I do loads of brush cutting, got the old FS450 yes they have grease plugs but my new ones FS460 FS490 for example are sealed and don't require greasing (according to Stihl😀) but time will tell
  19. In the last year Defenders have got stupidly expensive and over priced. Hence them being a popular item to be stolen.
