  1. I have a mate with one like that . I took a bit of the weight of a couple of limbs for him . Still produces apples . He grows daffodils in the cavities . Looks good in the spring !
  2. Have you tried fitting a new primer bulb . It would be a cheap way to eliminate my suggestion earlier of a punctured primer ?
  3. This above .Older Honda GX 390 engines made in Japan were strong and reliable . more recent ones are made in China and are no better , possibly even not as good as some of the Chinese copy engines . I recon Loncin are good value and possibly better than the current Honda engines . certainly cheaper . I had a Honda GX on a log splitter and the cost of a service was the same as buying a new Loncin engine ! You know what I did ...
  4. Hi Nick . welcome bud .Lots of people calling it a day as they find it difficult to make a profit . This might be a warning or might go in your favour ( less competition ) . Also the new regs on moisture content to come in soon . Do a search , loads on hear about it .
  5. If he, the borrower bloke , used old shite fuel it might have nipped up . have a look at the piston through the exhaust .
  6. I have both and used to have a 385XP . It got stolen so bought a 390XP . I would say in stock terms the 385 was ported a little more aggressively than the 390 . Just my feeling . Stock the 390 is smooth and reliable . I got my 390 ported by Spud almost immediately . It pulls a 28" full chiz very well . The 395 I have has an MM from the Walker saw shop but not sure if its been ported or not . Bit more grunt than the 390 and pulls a 36" full chiz .404 . If you can find a 395 I would go for that but they are like unicorns now . Both saws totally reliable .
  7. I bought an ELH years ago when it first came out . Had both dampers with it for different weights but alas I could not get on with it .
  8. I would connect it to someone else's saw ?
  9. Thing is with his strong heart he could go well past the 95 he has clocked up so far but it would be an existence rather that a life .
  10. Is that like Teds " Easy Lift Harness " ?
  11. My poor old dad has had a couple of falls recently . His skin is like tissue paper and he gets marked up very easily , poor old bugger . he has the beginnings of dementia . He knows who I am but has short term memory loss . He just wont drink enough water so his blood pressure drops and over he goes . . His problem is he has a strong ticker . He would turn himself off if he had a switch . I don't want to make 95 if that's what I have to look forward to . It is very sad .
  12. I think it is a case of what brushcutter to get rather than what blade . I run a pair of Husqvarnas , 55cc and 45cc and both will power the blade ok but I now find the 55cc one a bit heavy for prolonged periods as I am an old git ! Not much help , sorry .
  13. Is that what happened Khriss ? It helps to talk about it mate ...
  14. Yea I thought so . A few grams extra weight but helps if you suffer from " white finger "
  15. Also its clear the bar has never been flipped . They do work with the writing upside down ! .
  16. I seem to remember heated handles at least 20 years ago ? @adw
  17. I never had to inflate mine . Ever ! .
  18. I never would have thought you could catch Legionaires from your ABLJ !
