  1. Phew . I was sweating watching that . Huge cahoonas !
  2. Ok I'v put my hands up , it was my bad . I am idiotic . Don't know what else to say . You have , obviously a lot of time on ported saws . I defer to you bud . Sorry once again .
  3. Not me . I have made mistakes along the way . It seems this was one of them ! Sorry .
  4. Yea I know that but you guys are making it sound like a 22 air rifle against an AK47 !
  5. If he is a new user then he wont know how slow a non ported saw is so wont have a reference point . Yea I go round knocking on people doors and tell them that if they ever might consider getting a saw get it ported first . Thanks for your opinion on me being idiotic I will think again before I open my mouth . Sorry if I have upset you .
  6. You are starting to worrie me ! .......
  7. Why should a ported saw " bite some one " just coz its ported ? A ported saw is more efficient than a non ported one not more dangerous .
  8. I have a 372 ( spud ported ) and a 346 ( also spud ported ) . The 346 is the forerunner to the 550 . . Also , amongst a lot of others I have a 560 . I am over the moon with my 560 ( petemate ported ) but some people have had problems . I think that the 550 and 372 would be a very good mix . If you choose them spud can do a superb job of porting the 372 !
  9. Frost catch the blossom ?
  10. I think the hot start kit consists of a new coil , a hotter spark plug and some modified fuel line . Having said all that, mine has only had the hotter plug and I never have a problem hot starting mine is a 2011 saw . How can the bearings be knackerd after a DAYS WORK ?? Is this a Q.C. problem ?
  11. Works when you do it for the photo but the kids will never bother !!
  12. I have both the blowers you mention . The husky is supposed to put out a bit more puff but the stihl seems to blow more . maybe its because it is louder ?
  13. The two you mention would be a good combo . Depends on what you are doing but they would cover most things .
  14. At last an answer in the singular ! . Your favorite saw. People cant resist making a list ........

Ok Got a topcover and a new air filter . Saw looks very clean , not done much I wopuld say . Has narrow kirf chain . Starts like it should . Run it up for a 30 secs or so , seems to oil the bar but not a huge amount . turn it off put it down and there is a puddle of chain oil . Oil hole in bar is clear . Could it be the wrong bar ? or is it a known fault that can be fixed . ? My 346 does not do it .
  16. I don't like picking it up ! Only ever used it to actually fell once . It was a dead red wood . If I could do every thing with a 346 I would !
  17. That works well when you get the hang of it ....
  18. Been there more than once . Gutted for you bud .
