  1. They're made by Lewis.... I'll see if I can find a linky.... Here you are. http://www.lewisequipment.co.uk/ We had a Landlugger 30 on a Ford 1910, great kit.
  2. Nice talking to you Stuart....
  3. :lol::lol:
  4. How times have changed...! What a brilliant news report.... Nicholas Witchell, legend, brilliant delivery.... highlights for me of the report were the coppers driving the squashed Astra and the comment that 'the only person killed in London was a tramp sleeping rough'. Can you imagine a phrase like that being used on the news these days?!
  5. Ah, got you. I suppose what we call Gripfill over here would do the trick, I don't think it's very bouncy....
  6. Have you ever come across Pontrilas sawmills Jonathan...? That's quite a big bugger.... some big kit there.... I love going there... Pontrilas Sawmill
  7. My dog wants me to fail... Is a rubber ball a good idea..? Will it not bounce off any limbs it hits...? This is becoming a movement....
  8. :lol::lol:
  9. I was 7 too, but I remember it vividly. I remember waking up on the morning of the storm to a deathly black sky, howling winds and the devastation on the news. As I recall we got off fairly lightly around the lower Teme Valley, I remember the drive to school and being distinctly relieved to get to school that morning.... I remember this because it was a faily unique attitude to my time at school.... It was a phenomenal event, particularly for us in the UK because it's so unusual. Pissing rain we're used to, but not wind like that. But after the dust settled it was just a natural occurrence. All we could really do with it was better learn to adapt to nature. Not sure how well that lesson was learned in the main, or how quickly it was forgotten, we seem to tend towards adapting nature to our own ends...
  10. I is liking this one still.... The Chemical Brothers - Swoon - YouTube Why's it not embedding then...?
  11. Good times... my 4 ball Hyperdog / 'Little Shot' arrived today...!!! :thumbup: Unfortunately I've been tucked up in bed like a little fairy boy with a poorly tum so not had a chance to try it out yet :blushing: However it definitely looks like the solution I've been after.... Thank you Paul T from Glasgow, you may have started a new 'thing'... :biggrin:
  12. Quite right.... short, light, bouncy, quite powerful for their size, 82-ish hp [?], LP is noisy in the cab and gets bloody hot in the sun but does offer great visibility. Shuttle is 'abrupt' but functional! Think it's basically a re-styled & updated 895, so good pedigree.... Personally I'd prefer an 856 though....
  13. Airtex polo shirt usually 2 Airtex polos if it's cold 2 Airtex polos and a hoody if it's really cold.... that's unusual though.... And generally the same if it's raining.... cuz I'm well 'ard.... Quite fancy a Harkie smock for when it's really hosing down....
  14. I had a 1959 88" series 2 with a 3.5 V8 in it. Standard gearbox and rad, just had a kenlowe fan fitted. Brilliant truck, will buy it back one day!!
  15. I won't be trying that again!!! In all honesty, although I can see the advantages of a circle rig, I think that in reality the reason I hit that snag was because it doesn't work for me... I shoved the hitch so far above me so that I was pulling from full stretch, which is fine when the hitch is close coupled, but by it's very nature, if the hitch has to be further than full stretch to keep it out of the way then this problem is unavoidable. I also found that the prusik on the standing line was interfering with the hitch, causing it to grab inconsistently. And with the long reach it felt a little like being back on a blake's & split tail again! And finally, I'm trying to de-clutter, adding in another link & another prusik goes against my less is more approach.... If I want to tail my line in future I'll get a Pantin I think....

    Fair play Rich, takes some big kahunas and a selfless heart to do that job. Big respect to you
  17. I have it in my head they were 20 something quid, so not cheap. But very comfy... not great for climbing, too slippy, and I wouldn't want them for dragging thorns all day, but for general 'using a chainsaw' they're nice, keep my fingies warm, I don't make my delicate palms rough from branches and they're very good for general rope handling & throwbagging... How they'll last in [or on] the hands of 'real men', day in day out, I couldn't say...

    I nearly suffered from suspension trauma.....
  20. A slightly embarassing schoolboy error.... I received some goodies today from Joneses [brilliant service as ever, thanks boys and girls ] and having settled the kids in bed, wife's at work, I thought I'd head out to the shed for a little fiddle [with the goodies you understand] So I shinned up and swung my new MultiSaver over a rafter, and the kitted up and tied my new Copious Tec 75cm 8mm E2E into a Distel and had a couple of runs up and down, only 8 or 10 feet.... Took my gear off and thought...' Oh! I'll try that circle rig thing I keep wondering about'.... So I got saddled up again and tried it out... It wasn't until I was hanging 6 feet off the ground in the middle of nothing wanting to come back down that I realised I'd pushed the hitch too far away to reach and was about bloody stuck..... After a few minutes, the cold sweat, blind panic and wild thrashing had subsided and I realised I'd clipped my new mini-reach [which it seems is basically a bent car aerial] onto the back of my harness when I'd put it away earlier..... So I managed to release the hitch with the hooky end thing on it.... So all's well that ends well, I could still have been up there now if it wasn't for my little gizmo....

    I've been mooning over it in my shed... for several minutes from some height... but that's a embarrassing story which warrants a thread all of it's own.....
  22. I'm swaying towards the Blue Mountains I have to admit, other Haix boots appear to be well regarded and as you say, are Gore Tex too, which I think is unusual at this price.... I do keep going back to the Aquafell Experts though.... more money and I know they don't score well for durability, but they just look so comfy.... not to mention rather fetching in their black & orange colour scheme....

    Well, joy of joys, the 460 arrived today.... shipped with fuel in.... Still, at least it meant I could fire it straight up... Seems to start & run nicely but not had it out in anger yet. Massive KAT on the muffler is crying out to be replaced.... suggestions for replacement & improvement... can Spud help...? First impressions are that it's a nice light and well balanced saw... chuffed....
  24. I can't believe how greedy eBay have become, 10% takes the piss a bit I reckon, plus they win again on PayPal.... I had a Nunu.... which I always thought sounded like the kind of thing a girl who hadn't 'seen much of the world' would call her undecipherables.... 99_KonaBikeInfo
